It's a class war and Democrats are the only friends you got, ffs, train your fire. [Warning]: May contain words the New York Times is afraid to print.

"That’s because this is war by other means, a war without bombs, bullets, or boots on the ground, a new, sophisticated, asymmetric hybrid form of “nonlinear” warfare consisting of covert operations, active measures, disinformation, and cyberwarfare." shorturl.at/HYSxt Republican Party vs. the USA

Nothing Moves the Needle

Not that long ago, the press could root out corruption, topple presidents, and end wars. Now, even the biggest scoops have little impact. Here's how and why the media lost its mojo.

Democrats, left, right, or center are never going to defeat the billionaire class, their media empire, and their Republican Army. The only force on Earth capable of stopping the fascist juggernaut is a vast public rejection of everything they have planned for us. Only voters can decide our future.

Let's talk about these new Progressive Dems. Are Americans ready for Progressive Dems? Are they electable? Shouldn't we play it safe? FULL STOP: We've had Prog. Dems since the 60s. But we've gone in the opposite direction. And we know why: power, money & control. See more 👇 #Pinks #DoBetter

We're experiencing a crisis of greed + incompetence, a few talentless, amoral, know-nothings, running a handful of multinational corporations which control each industry. Antitrust must be an element of reform to save the country from a small bunch of bloviating assholes ruining everything.

It's conditioned reflex to blame Democrats because everyone is conditioned to hold the Republican Party harmless, for bad faith, for stripping people (particularly women) of human rights, unnecessary wars, rampant gun violence, even outright treason. The Mommy Party is left to blame for Dad's abuse.

Virtually EVERY SINGLE time someone says, "Dems haven't done X," a simple Google search will show that, in fact they did, and the speaker was just too lazy to check. Yes, communication is broken. That's a two-way street, always, especially now.

The things is, Republicans can't ruin Fauci's reputation with anyone who matters, to MAGA he's a villain and to everyone else he's a public hero. They're mostly feeding red meat to the base to distract them from their growing unease with an outcome they hadn't planned on or hoped for.

Jonathan@frakitall.bsky.social · 6d ago

While they try to vilify Fauci over words like "convinced," let's be serious. This is an obvious witch hunt to ruin his reputation because Sen. Paul is upset that Fauci basically called him a "quack" in their first Senate hearing on COVID.

The operating principle of the corporate press is Amoral False Equivalence. Flogging unimportant stories which may be suggested are Democratic wrongdoing provide some balance to the underreported cesspool of Republican bad faint, corruption, and malfeasance. www.democracydocket.com/analysis/leg...

Legacy media’s embarrassing feeding frenzy on New Jersey voter registration error

The legacy media has pounced on the story of New Jersey’s voter registration error. But the volume and tone of the news coverage have been embarrassingly out of proportion to the scale of the issue.

Once believed the mixed economies of the Nordic countries proved that capitalism can work but now think the US doesn't have what it takes. A government structured in weirdly undemocratic ways and a culture of self instead of common good do not help capitalism work. open.substack.com/pub/wonkette...?

Fine, then we'll take whatever flavor of 'capitalism' that is, please and thank you.

Robert's folly. To allow him and his corporatist allies to achieve their goal of wrecking regulatory government, Roberts had to help the Evangelical right also wreck the social compact with women and POC. But extremism is right's only virtue and the SC could never be radical enough to satisfy them.

www.commondreams.org/news/supreme... A record high 61% of Americans said they disapproved of the Supreme Court, according to a Gallup poll.

A category error many on the left make a habit is the idea of Democrats as power-players, when their power-position is beneath the donor class and its Republican army. Democrats can't defeat all of corporate oligarchy without the reliable support of a large voter-block, something they never have.

How much will Democratic leaders and donors burn down due to their fealty to Israel and billionaires? Most of it? All of it? We're seeing it in real time

Ouch, Bluesky mean. This was one of now endless "arguments" over whether Republicans or Democrats are better for the people and causes you care about and, if you think Democrats, is it a good idea to help Republicans by painting the Democratic Party with a dirty, broad brush. Rinse. Repeat.

The Republican Party used its DOGE dodge to decimate the entire government system crafted over decades to protect the public from unforeseen catastrophe. People currently tearing their hair out over $4 gas and $8 ground beef are sleepwalking toward the graveyard of our future.

The satellite that watches the eastern United States for storms went blind for 20 hours in July. NOAA cannot yet say why. Its backup sits weeks away from taking over. This is what a warning system looks like after the people who ran it were cut and its research arm marked for the axe.

An indisputable fact at this point, you simply can't conclude there's anything rational about our political choices, including the choice to let others decide for you. Guess the one place the mainstream press rarely (if ever) goes when explaining politics to the rest of us: the psychology of voters.

The Editorial Board@editorialboard.bsky.social · 2w ago

I tend to believe psychology explains most politics. That's why I think all this talk about McConnell's death is subtext to another terminal event that many people around here are looking forward to.
