As a new author, it’s very difficult even in the best of times getting one’s name out there. Being published in Clarkesworld has helped me immensely in that respect. Consider supporting the good work they do by subscribing. Every bit makes a difference!
And now that I'm back home, it's time to break out the reminder that we are in the midst of a subscription drive to increase staff and contributor pay to celebrate our 20th anniversary issue in October. Subscribe here: clarkesworldmagazine.com/subscribe/
It’s August which means it’s still too hot in Germany, everyone here goes on vacation, and I have some free reads to share: Sci-fi: books.bookfunnel.com/scifispirit/... Fantasy: books.bookfunnel.com/fantasyspiri...
Clarkesworld has recently discovered that their August issue successfully breached containment and gained access to the Internet, where it is presently hacking reader's minds. "Oh no, what will we do? Who knew that stories could be so powerful?" said Neil Clarke, when approached for comment.
The August issue of Clarkesworld is now online and features stories by Ravn J. Silver, Eilis O’Neal, Jordan Alexander, D.A. Xiaolin Spires, E.N. Auslender, Y.M. Pang, and H.H. Pak. clarkesworldmagazine.com/issue_239 Subscribe today at: clarkesworldmagazine.com/subscribe/
My take on the relative difficulty of writing time periods in SF (from least to most difficult): super far future -> far future -> present day -> near future Near future and especially books that include the downfall of society on page are tough to nail. Why then do I keep writing these stories?
‼️Announcing my next novel, Blessed is the Sync‼️ BitS is a dark science fantasy, book 3 in the Bit trilogy, and part of the Alfom shared universe. Release is scheduled for mid-February 2027.
We are about halfway towards our goal of picking up enough new subscriptions to give our staff, authors, translators, and artists a raise when we publish our 20th anniversary issue in October. Thanks to all who have signed up and/or boosted the signal. clarkesworldmagazine.com/subscribe/

I’m back home after an awesome time at @metropolconbrln with some added baggage in the form of copies of Clarkesworld, specifically the issues my 3 stories appear in. These were gifted by Neil Clarke himself making for a lovely surprise. I shamelessly asked him for signatures on all of them.
Day 1 of Metropolcon (Eurocon) is done! Happy to be half of this dynamic duo/share a table with Liv Strom.

This time next week will see me in the thick of Metropolcon/Eurocon 2026 in Berlin. My schedule is looking packed seeing as I’ll be serving on three panels: 1) Shared Universes in Storytelling, 2) Indie vs Traditional Publishing, and 3) GenAI and Publishing: A Bad Mix.
Pick a page number from 1 to 348, leave it in a comment, and I will give you a line from my dark science fantasy novel, Blessed is the Link! Release is on June 30, 2026. Preorder now to receive the first three chapters early and a companion short story.
With an impending release, it’s time to update the author-suggested reading order for my Alfom series. At present, these stories can be read in any order with one caveat—the Bit trilogy (yellow borders) ought to be read in the order indicated unless you like spoilers and being thoroughly confused.
An “about the author” post I won’t have to update every time I publish something new 😅 I also settled on a color scheme that centers on my affinity toward klein blue.

Freebie alert! My latest short story (technically novelette) “Disaffected” (Bit #1.5) is out now. It’s a companion piece to Blessed is the Link (Bit #2) and deals with revolutionaries and wealth inequality.
Non-Euclidean isn’t a term most people are exposed to, but it’s one that makes many appearances in my Bit trilogy books. This brief dictionary definition does a pretty good job of distilling it down to the basics.
