"One would call that a glutton. Though a more graceful term would be connoisseur."

"That seems to be in poor spirit for a true glutton." A soft sigh in feigned displeasure.
"But wouldn't that in be in poor spirit? Would it truly be the same meal? The same flavors?"
Obviously. "But will you be able to collect enough to satisfy for your lifespan?"
"I will give it to you when the day comes to destroy the planet. Until then, you must continue to visit to enjoy a meal." She is quite a schemer, it seems. "Oh. And let's not forget the ingredients are native to the planet, so who knows if you would be able to recreate it."
"If you so insist. I will take the time to...immortalize their development. Such is my purpose, as destruction is yours."
"Hardly the point. They aren't meant to be a challenge to you, but their own kin. Thus, progressively increasing their strength with time, or perhaps leading to an era of prosperity. I would find that just as entertaining. It would certainly kill a few eons."
"To coddle them would prevent the rise of stronger individuals. Challenge creates strength, after all. Would it not be better to...watch for a time?"
"Such is their want. To be proven otherwise is guaranteed, if course. I'm sure it will be...amusing to watch." Rude cat.
"Of course not. I am a god. Context is quite important, as it is a factual statement and implying there are more than one. Both of which, are true." How many times need she have this conversation?
The goddess walked to the dining space connected to the kitchen, motioning for her to follow. "I have." She assured, retrieving silverware in her way out. It was rare for her to have company like this. "It smells delicious." She then hummed as she passed the other, setting her meal on the table.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ“Are you finished with yours, dear goddess.ᐣ” ㅤㅤ•° she brought the bowl out of the kitchen, though she waited for Anura to catch up. She doesn't know the layout of the place, after all. ㅤㅤ
The goddess was humming a soft tune as she worked. The simplicity of a home-cooked meal could not be understated. Seared tilapia on a bed of rice, with vegetables to pair. The goddess made a plate for the other. Picturesque. Perfect.
ㅤㅤ•° but, greens were still chopped and blanched, noodles were cooked, and so forth. Eventually she finished, creating a perfect bowl of dandan noodles ㅤㅤ
The goddess worked diligently. Hands following practiced motions. Yet, the library seemed to be in flux. Time shifted oddly around the goddess. Cabinets seemed to suddenly have things that weren't there before. It was to be expected, considering this was her domain. Outside of the sensibilities of —
ㅤㅤ•° she found only a small amount of what she actually needs for the dish in the kitchen, and instead summoned her own stash for this. Just this once. ㅤㅤ•° pulling from the void, she took some dry noodles, green vegetables, and Chinese chili oil.
The goddess hummed softly in reply, giving a small smile. "I hope you enjoy seafood." When was the last time she cooked for someone? A taste of home? No, just the blends she has enjoyed in her lifetimes. Tilapia. Now, what for sides...
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ•° a smile finally graced her face. She likes the idea, and perhaps cooking will make her stop worrying over the goddess. ㅤㅤ“Very well.” ㅤㅤ•° she opened the cabinets, taking out a few pans and other tools. ㅤㅤ“I just hope you don't mind spice.” ㅤㅤ
"You're more than welcome to do as you would like. But I am the host, and I would like to be able to treat my guest. Unless...we make each other a meal for the other. A favorite dish, perhaps." The goddess paused by a freezer, glancing over her shoulder at the other. "It sounds like a fun game, no?"
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ“Let me help, then.“ ㅤㅤ•° she fell into step with the goddess, moving with her to the kitchen. It looked like any other kitchen she has been in, though perhaps more advanced than the one she owned back home. ㅤㅤ“I happen to know quite a few recipes.” ㅤㅤ
"Of course not. If I wish to eat, I will cook. After all, I have the largest collection of cookbooks in creation." She chuckled. With a heavy thud, they were now surrounded by living space. Her 'home'. She began to walk towards the kitchen...
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ•° she stepped closer to the goddess ever so slightly, worried that she might be swiftly whipped away like the shelves, as silly as it was. ㅤㅤ“ ... I had assumed we would be going somewhere. Pardon me.” ㅤㅤ
The goddess nodded. "Lovely." She said simply. "Mind your footing." The Atrium of the library began to rotate, the shelving moving counter to it before seeming to slide out to the distance and away. A different space instead replaced it, surrounding the Atrium.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ•° today was an off day for her. No work, nothing to do. Might as well accept the invitation than return to her home to do nothing. ㅤㅤ“Very well. I have nothing else to do.” ㅤㅤ
The goddess reached to take the book back. "Ah...yes, I almost forgot." She gently dusted its cover as a pedestal slid over to her side, to which she set it down. "...would you like to join me for lunch?"
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ•° some relief replaced the worry, but it was not completely gone. ㅤㅤ“Likewise, dear goddess.” ㅤㅤ•° she summoned a thick book with a leather cover to her hand, and offered it to the other. ㅤㅤ“I wanted to give this book back, too. Took it when I returned another book last time.“ ㅤㅤ
"I had to...depressurize." A vague but accurate explanation. "My body was getting too claustrophobic for my consciousness. Still, its good to see you in good health, Yingzi." A soft smile offered as comfort.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ“You- of course I am. You've been gone for a while. I was worried.“ ㅤㅤ•° it's almost nonsensical to even worry for someone like Anura, but Yingzi knew people who can take down gods and goddesses, and the mere possibility worried her to no end. ㅤㅤ
Anura looked up from her desk, slowly standing. Nothing seemed physically wrong with the goddess, but she did seem tired. She stepped out from her workspace. "You seem troubled..." Dry humor.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ•° entering mere minutes later, making a beeline for the owner of the Library. ㅤㅤ“Dear goddess ... .ᐟ“ ㅤㅤ•° worry was evident on her face. She thought the other was gone. ㅤㅤ
While beauty is subjective, Anura knows when something is beautiful. And knows when to admire such beauty.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ•° she appreciates the attention she's getting, and appreciates the respect, especially coming from a god. ㅤㅤ
The Library is open again. Where has she been for months?
