One of my favorite things about reading is its ability to transport me far beyond my immediate surroundings. It introduces me to new information, concepts, and kinds of people. Be it a novel, non fiction, short stories, articles, etc.
After swearing I was mostly done with passively consuming fictional media, I see there is actually a benefit to it: Study the good (and occasionally bad) stories so you can know how to construct your own, the way I am currently doing for our upcoming game. Let art be inspiration as much as escapism.
