There's a lot of harder and more complex things that need to be done to knock MAGA fascism down to size but landing punches in political discourse is one of the easiest. Republicans suck! Their leaders *really* sucks! And they've mostly dropped any effort to hide it. Point it out, good and hard.

Involves outreach, etc. But one of the best ways to consolidate Democrats is to land punches against Republicans. Not just going on the attack but showing that your punches are landing.
Restaurants: Don't do this! I'm gonna walk right past and never return if I see this and I won't be the only one. I don't care what you think you save on a graphic designer or even just someone writing something clever on a chalkboard. Your margins are too small for the business you're losing.

There's a lot of reasons why Trump's presidency is failing and why the Right's propaganda firehose is unsuccessful at putting out the fire but one of those reasons is that the place they're leaning hard on demonizing and painting as a corrupt crime-ridden wasteland is... Minnesota.

Not sure if I have one if those, but as to the ISGM heist, the answer is probably kinda dull: the paintings have never left criminal underworld circles because they're just *too hot* to even think about selling, or they were sold to a private collector who can't show anyone cause they're *too hot*.

Yeah, I just go ahead and assume that whenever the Right talks about their "reasonable concerns" about an issue, they're just lying. I can't think of a time when that assumption hasn't been correct, maybe I'll revisit my priors when that happens but it's yet to come up.

Perhaps Bari Weiss' biggest failing (and oh wow, is that a true competition) isn't that she's a conservative but that's she's the wrong kind of conservative. Nobody wants a presentable, plausible-deniability conservative anymore. Liberals have no use for them and the Right just wants firebreathers.

I appreciate the sentiment that the Right's purported objections to bike lanes can be urban-engineered away but unfortunately bike lanes are just another culture war flashpoint for them and the supposed practical issues they raise are bullshit. They resent bikers and their lanes, period.

This story cuts to an oft-unseen heart of American conservatism's anti-immigrant fervour: immigrants are better at living up to American values than native-born Republicans and they know it, so they lash out and rig the system in their favour so they look better.
