I do wish that modern Daleks didn't make all those 'electronic machine whining noises' when the head moves or the body moves... yes, they are machines but not powered like old mangles.... There. I said it.
I actually did that too in primary school… the tea was a little stewed, but delicious. The dinnerladies & school cook used to make me tea from then on… easier than carrying a flask with my Enid Blytons…

They do obviously bad things. They get away with it. We scratch our heads. “Lessons shall be learned” If WE do it - ton of bricks descends. “You should have known/it’s your fault” We don’t do it again. They repeat, smile & do worse. And on it goes. It’s very VERY frustrating.
