He's not called the "King of the North" in most parts of the north. Southern based media completely misread the impact Andy #Burnham has had on the rest of the north. I don't think he claims the title for himself either. His focus was, rightly, on the north west where he's done great work.

I end the day and am proud to say I haven't heard his voice once. I did the same with Trumple, managed to go weeks just flicking the channel whenever his smug face appeared or it sounded like he was about to be on the radio. I accept the challenge once more.
BBC cuts have arrived. Apparently BBC Scotland is now only available in black and white.
The election canvasser who stopped me in town didn't look amused when I turned down her leaflet and said I wouldn't vote for her lot 'if you gave me five million quid'.
If anyone in Trumples orbit could read, they could try looking at the NATO articles that the US signed up to. NATO is specifically not there to launch attacks on other countries, specifically it is a defence organisation. So fed up with this hopeless US administration.

Remember hearing this ahead of its general release in 1982. It was the first CD I'd ever heard in studio conditions, playing on a Philips machine, in Pennine Radio' Studio A. It was mesmerising, when the cat pured and the bottle smashed - you could have knocked me down with a feather!

I did my constitutional duty today and returned one parties local election literature to them, via their handy Freepost address. It'll cost them £2.50 from their coffers when it lands at their office. Don't worry, I wrote a message on the returned leaflet, so they can't re-use it. Thank me later.
I love it when you stumble across a part of your life long forgotten. I spent a year playing these on the radio when I first moved to Hull in the mid eighties. Cath Baxter composed and arranged the most amazing idents package I ever used on air as a presenter. #vikingradio

Wow, who knew the BBC was closing its Weather department?
@scottygb.bsky.social www.google.com/search?q=pam... Perhaps worthy of a mention. A brilliant leader and the woman behind C4's original looks and the modernisation of the BBC's on screen look too.

I was saddened to read this. Pam took me on as a Network Director in the 90's, with no tv experience whatsoever. The all female management team (with Janet Hoenig and Sandy Maeer) were inspiring to work for and I spent 11 very happy years at TVC as a result. Not a known name, but what a tv legend.

The US president, the one with bone spurs and no military record, also appears to have no knowledge about his own countries combat action within NATO, let alone the ultimate sacrifice of hundreds of service personal from the other countries supporting them. Appalling conduct from a convicted felon.
I guess when Trumple said he could sort out the Ukraine/Russia war in one day, he just forgot which day he was talking about. It's time the world put him to one side and stopped trying to appease the orange idiot.

Fabulous journalism from #TimeOut... lifted from a National Geographic story. Except, Time Out didn't bother to check if Hull is actually by the sea. It isn't. Oh well.
Having just heard some of Trumps nonsense at the UN, I'm reminded of a previously used description of the US president... "Absolute cockwomble"

23 of the items on the homepage of the BBC News App are about Charlie Kirk. 23 separate items. Who is making that choice? Spend a little less time creating all of those and you might have time to host a BBC News feed here on Bluesky.
