I find St Paul's Cathedral enduringly fascinating. Designed by Wren it was completed in 1710 and has since stood majestically in the City. My grandfather took me when I was 8 and it's since been a reassuring presence for me, a symbol of London's majesty and endurance. I always snap it when passing.

Friday lunch is an M&S pork pie and home-grown tomatoes. The pie is OK, but the tomatoes - the first time I've ever grown any (from plants that were a gift from treasured friends) are absolutely delicious - bursting with flavour and so much more of an enjoyable mouthful than shop- bought tomatoes.

I saw Arcadia at the Duke Of York's. Stoppard's play is bursting with discussions about algebra, gardening, science, sex, revealing itself over a pacy 3 hours. I found plenty of laughs and plenty to think about. Wonderful performances and great theatre. It runs until 12 September

Today's matinee #theatre treat is Arcadia at the Duke of York's Theatre, freshly transferred from the Old Vic. Some say it's Soppard's best work. I'm excited to have front row stage stall seats, I love seeing the actors close up.

The job search continues. I had a disaster when I applied to be on a baking show. They asked me to make a fruit cake so I put together a fruit bread of nuts, spices, and candied fruit, coated with powdered sugar, but it was stollen.

St Clement’s Church in Leigh-on-Sea has great views of the Thames Estuary. Its origins date back to the 13th century but it was rebuilt in the late 15th or early 16th century. You'll find it at the heart of busy Leigh Broadway with steps beside it leading to the delights of Old Leigh. #Essex

The job search continues. I didn't last long at the detective agency after I broke my boss's phone covering while solving the crime. I cracked the case but cracked the case.
