Map from today's Far Lands session at #gencon! The team encountered blood-drinking flowers that conjure mirages to lure in victims. They climbed a tower at the center of a crater that revealed the vast desert beyond was once an endless ocean, and perhaps a chance for redemption.

Listening to "narrative kaleidoscope" podcast, thinking about board/video games vs ttrpgs as a difference between additive vs subtractive design. Board/video games start from nothing and add choices. TTRPGs start from infinite possibilities and then narrow the decision space until it's playable.

Listened to the @lingthusiasm.com episode about diglossia- what a cool concept for worldbuilding! (And for understanding other cultures today and in history) It immediately makes me think of ways to replicate this in a TTRPG- like having a player raise a hand if they're speaking formally.

Realized recently that I've been feeling a weird shame that I haven't published any one-page #TTRPGs, which of course makes it harder to actually try to do. On one hand, it doesn't actually matter for my credibility or anything, but in the other hand I *do* want to give it a try...
