Just finished *The Haar* by @paperbacksandpugs.bsky.social. A gripping and viscerally nasty novel that feels like a cosmic horror Hitchhiker’s Guide meets Little Shop of Horrors, but pitch black, while also being touching and affecting with 3d characters. 8/10 Strong stomachs only. #horrorwriters

Hi there, I write weird/cosmic horror, along with fantasy and sci-fi and other stuff. Lovecraft's Colour Out of Space (and the Nicolas Cage movie). I'll also point to Annihilation as a similar story. Blair Witch would also qualify. Pulse, the J-horror, also sort of qualifies. #horrorwriterschat

It didn't exist in three dimensions, or it wouldn't shift like that - almost like I was seeing slices of it dipping into my world from somewhere else. I could see viscera where the flesh disappeared, but the flesh reappeared and covered it. A jaw vanished, leaving bare teeth. #horrorwriterschat
