Factorio isn't the kind of game I thought I'd get into. In fact, when I first tried it eight years ago, I disliked it enough to never play any similar games. But recently, it's really got my attention. Here're my Science automation modules! :D

Screenshot of Sir Greaves' Factorio science automation modules. It covers red, green, black, blue, purple, and yellow sciences. Each more complex than the last, but maintaining symmetrical buildings when possible.

I made a mini model for planning my #factorio base! It's not *exactly* to-scale, but it helps! Also, when's a good time to start Space Age? Is it different right from the beginning, or would I be able to start a second save and get a really basic factory going while I finish with my vanilla save?

Screenshot of Sir Greaves' model Factorio base.

It uses Display Panels as markers for various things; train cars, smelteries, and crafting sections for other important materials. It has a section dedicated to oil processing, above the oil train, and a section for science automation on the other end.

The model also features power poles, roboports, and fluid pipes running along the main belt.

Made some fancy text! Now I just need to find an excuse to use it. It doesn't work quite so well for Youtube thumbnails since those have to be legible at small sizes. But maybe with enough contrast or some other excuse...

Image of the text, "Sir Greaves", in two columns of six. The first column with a red background, the second with gold. The text cycles through various combinations of gold and red fill and outline.

I don't have much I'm waiting for in the gaming space, but to get release dates for 2/3 of them in the same week has me pretty excited! Tarnished Edition on PC will just add some armors and weapons, but, fashion! And DOOM: The Dark Ages is a paladin game! Of course I'm excited for more of that! :D

image shows a screenshot of Sir Greaves' notebook, opened to a page titled "Game announcements", with game titles and release dates. They read as follows;

- Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, August 28th
- DOOM: The Dark Ages (DLC), July 7th
- The Duskbloods, To Be Announced

If you want more sky islands in #Terraria skyblock, use any or all of these Secret Seeds; - thecarebearsmovie - purify this - does that sparkle - toadstool - sandy britches - winter is coming - water park I like adding these; - save the rainforest - abandoned manors Also try; - how did I get here

Streamathon was a great success! The Sun Squires added nearly two weeks to the clock! I tried 16 games I probably wouldn't've otherwise tried, and gave a second chance to a couple I didn't remember enjoying. Now I have 10 'new' games to continue and a good start on acquiring Greaves 2.0!

Sir Greaves' Streamathon timer, inspired by gothic architecture and other medieval things.

The normally numeric display now reads "end:ty:to", and there are eight banners below displaying the names of Sun Squires who donated and how much time they each added.

People've been so loud for so long about generative AI actively hurting artists that I strongly believe anyone who continues to use it simply doesn't care. Generative AI has no place in the creative field. Not used as references, inspiration, or for placeholder images. Hire artists.

I find so many artists I've never seen before when researching ref on every single painting I make. This is the way we make connections. Using genAI to make reference is creating unseen missed opportunities at unprecedented speed and removing one more human element of art making.

I'm really bad at the whole "social" part of social media. Sorry if you're expecting a response and I haven't got around to it, I'm stuck trying to double-check everything.

Following a suggestion; I'm looking for someone who renders armor and fabric like this. (in the little boxes) This specific artist hasn't been around since 2020. :( But if your style is similar, hit me up! If not, sharing and reposting is good! :D Of course, no AI.

Poster-styled image with a red background and gold border. Large gold text reads; "I WANT TO COMMISSION YOU", with smaller text that reads, "if your art style looks like this". Below that, there are four square images showcasing a specific art style, focusing on the smoothly-shaded, almost dull grey metal that isn't very reflective and similarly smoothly-shaded fabric. Text below that reads; "This piece was done by Jooyoung Park, who’s been gone a long time. :( PLEASE CONTACT @SirGreaves.bsky.social If you, or someone you know, can draw like this. If not, please help me get more eyes on this by sharing and reposting :D"

Behold, the PNG-wiggler! (Volume warning) The things I was using lacked the features I wanted, so I did a little tinkering with Javascript. It has a silence threshold, a loudness threshold, and can apply effects to all states. The wiggling is greatly exaggerated for demonstration purposes.
