Where is all the money going? Every day we read about massive cuts by @ukri.org, but their budget wasn't cut.

Growing up in the Northwest, Jodrell Bank helped inspire my interest in science. To hear of its funding being cut by @ukri.org is extremely sad, and an act of monumental vandalism that diminishes UK science in so many ways, including its ability to excite little kids... www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I have often seen Microsoft software spread within organisations due to IT and procurement people being "captured" by effective lobbying and sales pitches. Microsoft software is not particularly good, safe or cheap, and researchers benefit from having choice over what they use. @ukri.org

Some inside the @ukri.org wish to push @microsoft.com software too far down into research. This is a risk that didn't work out well for the ICC! @ukri.org should focus on funding good science rather than homogenise for the sake of homogenisation. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

The #ADFLIP approach by @kaiyi94.bsky.social and @kjamali.bsky.social, combined with their approach to backpropagation through #AlphaFold2, is really powerful. Keep tuned for more exciting results! 🥳

Thrilled with the our results with @kjamali.bsky.social and @sjorsscheres.bsky.social from the recent binder competition! 🎉 2 of our 7 designs successfully bound to the target, with affinities ranking 2nd and 3rd overall. All of these designs targeted the disordered region of the protein.
