i love art so much, i love the incredible human spirit how fortunate am i, despite it all, to live in such a time where limitless amounts of art are available at my fingertips? more than i could consume in several lifetimes, a well of beauty that will never run dry humans are just the best.

10 years ago I would have hated the OoT remake with every fibre of my being, now I just don't really give a shit either way. Have I become what I hated? So jaded that I no longer care about anything? Is this growth or regression?

i love the idea of game dev but everytime i get back into it i've forgotten everything i learned in the previous session years ago and have to learn it all over again, i don't know how to prevent this aside from just never stopping

attended a morning prayer session in OSRS, following the 2019 BCP ACNA liturgy, one of the surreal things i've ever witnessed in a video game this could only happen in OSRS and I absolutely love it

At the 1991 CES trade show, Nintendo's booth allowed attendees to stand in front of a green screen, which would then be overlaid over Super Mario World, so they could "be in the game" with Mario. The bad syncing on the overlay gives the resulting footage an extremely amateurish appearance.

been playing a lot of ps2 games recently and it really can't be overstated how unbelievably good its library is, I don't see how any other console can even be mentioned as a GOAT contender in comparison, everyone else is utterly mogged

i think part of the reason CRTs became seen as shitty tech (by some) is because of how bad they look when you photograph them, like if you show this picture to somebody under the age of like 25 they're going to think you were out of your mind for using these things

dreamt that Marilyn Monroe stayed at my house and all I did was take a picture of her sitting next to my retro PC, later I learned she was actually a fraud and the real Marilyn died in 1962

some wires got crossed in my brain years ago where i became convinced that jon hamm voiced the pig from toy story, and even though i know it's nonsense i can't completely rid myself of this premise

last year i put together a windows 98 pc and i can't express what a joy it's been, if you're somebody with any interest in vintage tech i can't recommend it enough, real hardware just hits different

Players of Paper Mario are made to believe that Kooper has a bandage on his cheek as part of his character design. This features heavily in fan depictions of him. As it turns out, the bandage was never supposed to be permanent and this is a case of artwork being removed from its intended context.

This is the box art for Paper Mario.
This is likely the only place where most players would see official art of Kooper, and it depicts him with a bandage, suggesting it is part of his character design.
The bandage is part of the audience's image of Kooper.

The bandage does not appear in any of his in-game sprites, but this is easy enough to overlook given how small their resolution is. Official art often includes details absent from sprites.
However, there is another, much rarer piece of actual official art depicting him without a bandage. So what is the truth?
It turns out the bandage art was likely meant to be paired up with art of Mario with the same bandage. Due to only Kooper making it onto the box, the context was lost and it looked like his design.
