They/Them โฌ›๏ธโฌœ๏ธ๐ŸŸช ๐ŸŸฉโฌœ๏ธโฌ›๏ธ Artist focusing on illustration, character/creature design, and comics. Horror and gore abound. Lover of monsters and all things spooky. Queer and perpetually sad.

a piece for de-rusting and also to time out my process for future reference, which has already come in handy. I never did totally make up my mind on Wish's redesign, but this feels like the most solid its been.

Some random character designs for practice, I guess? I just kinda fell into working on them and didn't think about it harder than that. for like four days. lol. I'll probably try and get them coloured soon, probably good to throw into the portfolio after that.

8 character designs in two rows of 4. top 4 are masculine, bottom 4 are feminine. They are all front facing, no additional facings.

Sketch from daily drawings in May 2023 that I'm revisiting to ink. Lots of good old stuff that never got finished that I can go back to now... I think I'll be trying to regularly post old stuff that may have never gotten shared before, cause I sure didn't feel like sharing the last few years.

Sketch of a humanoid Venus fly trap monster holding a human skull among a field of giant man eating Venus fly traps and bones. Some flytraps are closed and leaking fluids. The smallest ones are open maws. A large vertical trap next to the humanoid is opening to reveal a human ribcage and lots of goop.

Hey, hi. Life changed really suddenly. ~2 months ago I was laid off. So far I've just kinda... been existing. Longer text about the situation I wrote for Tumblr, so don't mind the mention of Bluesky at the end. Probably delete this later.

I was laid off at the beginning of June. At the end of June I would have worked at the studio for eleven years.

I've never had another job. I've never actually searched or applied for a job.

I've just been sort of aimlessly floating through the last two (almost) months.

It was so easy to think "now I'll have time for my own art" but I really haven't done any so far. I've never been any good at self-direction and motivation.

Getting a normal-style job in art is so scary and unlikely, I've been thinking a lot about how to get into like... merch selling, I guess. Friends were very encouraging about doing craft fair tabling and the like... which I just don't think I can do, for a lot of reasons. But online, maybe? But again I don't see myself doing well with having a physical stock of stuff and having to mail out and...

Above all, I've never had an audience that would buy things in the first place. I entirely overthink "building an online audience" - I don't know where to START. Let alone actually then posting consistently and like... building something. I don't really like posting, as a generalization.I don't know what to do. I have so so many options, and that's a big part of the problem. I'm too indecisive. I still have that comic to finish - its the size of a small graphic novel and everybody that's read through the rough has had very positive things to say. is posting online worth it? do I attempt self-publishing or traditional publishing? Or do I try smaller anthology comic stuff? Little horror stories? Try to stay in indie game development, somehow? Options, options, and none of them stick out for better or worse. I just don't know.

And yet when I step back and look at the bigger picture, I really don't want to be a freelance independent artist. Especially not doing commissions. Sounds terrifying. And technically, doesn't that eliminate most things I listed already?

Anyway. Just speaking into the void, I guess. But if I'm gonna try and do the Online Artist thing again, I'll be posting art here eventually. Presumably. And I guess maybe Bluesky? I know X is a hellscape, but like... I don't hear anything good about anywhere else, so... I actually don't even know.

But I've said that before. So... Who knows.

My love for Wind Waker managed to pull me out of a long and deep depression pit long enough to do this. Started playing the HD version and its just so pretty, I finally actually wanted to draw something. So here's my OC Wish in WW style!

Digital drawing of an original character in The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker's cartoony style. He has purple hair over one eye, visible eye is silver, pointed ears, a blue, black, and white outfit, and feathered wings and a tail that are a lighter purple than his hair, but matching purple at the tips. His wings are spread wide as he is floating mid-air and has a mildly surprised expression. There is a blue gradient rectangular block of colour as a background behind him.

Sorry I disappeared, but the last few months have been really bad! Really life stuff, family stuff... Things have been settling down though so hopefully with the new year I can get back to doing some more art. For now, here's a year in review, one piece per month.

Repostober 29 - 2015 #art More Steven Universe! I think of these as "chibi" even if they're... mostly not. Really just simplified? Closer to the show's style than my usual, at least. Many more of the one-coloured-shaded style in the replies!

Repostober 28 - 2015 #art These mostly kinda make me laugh now lol. There's plenty of problems (with the feet and shading especially) but like. I'm surprised by how much effort I put in, honestly. 2015 was a different time. Gonna put em all separately in the replies!

Repostober 27 - 2015 #art A small series of "Flower Language" (and leaves) portraits for some gems. I definitely did research (though couldn't tell you the sources anymore) and picked stuff out for all the major characters but only finished these three.

Repostober 26 - 2015 #art How about MORE STEVEN UNIVERSE I wanna say this was done before it was clear Amethyst wasn't there for the war proper... but also Ruby and Sapphire are there so maybe I just willfully missed that detail lol, I don't remember exactly.

Repostober 20 - 2017 #art I didn't forget this time, I was busy doing a 24 hour charity stream :'D Dragon! I used to draw dragons so much. Now they're kind of few and far between, but still hold a special place in my heart. I still love the way her eyes turned out - don't remember how I did it lol

Repostober 19 - 2018 #art A scene from a TTRPG campaign, a homebrew wild west game. Some complicated feelings, cause it was supposed to be a podcast, but... buncha dumb stuff happened. beh. Was a really good story... Wanna be proud of it, and this piece, but just. Sad. :C

Repostober 18 - 2018 #art Yeah just posting the next immediately sorry (not sorry?) The first drawing/design for Echo! I think their horns kind of unconsciously got longer over time and they rarely use their staff, but other than that they really haven't changed!
