All across the world this week it seems like people in the Chinese diaspora are being told to ‘go home’. From NZ’s foreign minister (saying this to a NZ minister of Chinese ancestry), to some Malaysian nationalists calling us ‘pendatang’ (even if some of us have been there longer than they have).

Saw a Hawaiian person discuss the cost of living references that mainlanders make: ‘I really don’t care that a gallon of milk is ten bucks. I don’t need milk. I need to get spicy ahi a few times a week, however. How much will that cost over there?’ Priorities. Same, brother.
