i think what bugs me when the yearly "why is m/m so popular" debate comes up is that people inevitably are like "well it makes me uncomfortable when misogyny is done on a woman so doing it on a man makes me feel Safe" as if queer men aren't also impacted by misogyny in the form of homophobia
i said this on the other site but where the viewpoint of people who mostly immerse themselves in m/m and m/f badly falls apart in their talking-from-ignorance of f/f is that they do the traditional think of calling lesbians and trans women "basically men"

there are salient points brought up in the review especially regarding the ethics of where it was shot but i feel like that's such a minor part of the overall review and it's so frustrating seeing it get shared around when it's not a very good film review. despite being for a film.
I don't disagree with some of the criticisms—Nolan’s women are always underwritten and positioned to be aids and helpers of Great Men—but the back half of this review is just about things that happen in The Odyssey that aren’t in the movie, and not *what is in the movie.*
