This was the racket the whole time. Place bogus tarriffs on other countries, prices go up, and never come down. Just another way for companies to extort billions from the American people. They just made everything we buy more expensive and rewarded themselves for doing it.
These prices definitely don't reflect pricing in small town grocery stores. Ground beef is almost $10lb. Steak is over $12 a pound. A box of genetic spaghetti is almost $3. A big of chips is $5. I bought a large pizza the other day with a gluten free crust, it was $50. Gas out here is just as bad.
And they keep raising their prices. In the last two weeks alone, a box of (domestic - not imported) spaghetti that was 99 cents last month is now $1.29. A 30% increase! May seem insignificant, but these increases add up.
Because our elected officials don’t care about representing us, they care about funding their next campaign by making the billionaire CEO’s happy.
Did you see how Apple, Amazon Walmart and other big companies are refunding the billions of dollars they got back from the federal tariff settlement to their customers, who ultimately bore the cost of higher prices? Yea, me neither.
Notice DOJ doesn't talk about its efforts to obtain state voter files anymore. They are 0-20 in those cases and today is the beginning of the quiet period -- states can no longer do systematic removals of names from the voter rolls. TLDR: We won!🥳

We can hardly wait. Our Congress passed a bill demanding that this happen, but they seem too corrupt/intimidated to follow up on it. We're hoping to replace most of them soon, but whatever you can do will be helpful & much appreciated. #ProudBlue
Gill: All 100 senators last week passed a non-binding resolution condemning any pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell. They're simultaneously considering confirming the guy who met with her and moved her to a low-security facility as the top cop in the United States. That is so insane to me.
Susan Collins announcing she'll vote against a controversial nominee is basically the moment it becomes clear that nominee will be confirmed. It means Thune has enough votes to confirm, and thus, Collins gets a pass to look independent.
My only metric will be voting for whoever swears to hold tRump fully accountable.

Great to know that stocks are on an August high - SMASHING records. In the meantime, gas is still double than earlier this year, food prices are still going up, aca still hasn't been subsidized, school loan repayments are bigger than ever, utility prices are skyrocketing.
