I think some people also confuse faction war with faction conflict and with faction identity and partially the issue is building a faction identity outside of the faction war and faction conflict scenarios. Your guys cannot be just "not the other guys", they need more than negative identity

I think a lot of WoW discourse comes from the inability to accept that stories end, cause I see it with Diablo and the whole "We have good demons now???" shit when humans have always been half demon/half angel and the eventual end of the Eternal Conflict by humanity is inbuilt in the setting
