As though to add insult to injury, the Geo and Anemo Archons had come to her door. Another change. Beelzebul hadn’t met them since she’d first taken on her mantle. No, even before that—she had never met them, not in the ways that mattered. And now here they were, at the top of the Tenshukaku castle, sitting around a table like they were old friends.

“So? What’d you think?” Unable to keep quiet, Barbatos lowered his instrument and leaned forward expectantly. His bright eyes darted from Beelzebul to Morax, eager to drink in the compliments. “I thought I’d try my hand at Inazuma poetry.” He gestured at the open windows around them, at the bright, silvery moon in the sky. “Though, since it’s a moon-viewing festival, maybe I should have sung about it?”
