Started a new book, applied for a DJ thing, worked on a new DJ mix, and got more than halfway through the first Red River episode edit tonight. Needed to write it out before my brain insists we did nothing today.

Me: I have to try not to spend money My brain: weren’t we just thinking about spending some money? Me: oh, yes? What was I going to waste my money on now? Brain: Spider-Man tickets for your husband Me: oh, yes yes, right, Spider-Man for the husband, that is okay, yes
Did I request my friends go to Vessel with me in NYC because it was once the main focus in a Chainsmokers music video? I don’t know. You can’t prove it.
Me, in NYC, living it up all weekend with my friends: huh! I feel great! No headaches! Me, yesterday, traveling home: still going strong! I have escaped the ills of partying too hard! Me, today: oh nope there’s the headache ughhhhhhh 💀
Me: I will definitely work on my stuff today Me: nah I’m catching up with friends irl Catching up with friends irl always greater than working on DJ content or podcast 👍
A few weeks ago I bit into something soft yet something crunchy hurt my teeth. I assumed it was some part of my cavity fillings going wrong yet I didn’t do anything. Let’s just say I’m starting to have regrets about not requesting an appointment immediately.
I miss normal sleep, please get me to fall and standard time now. www.npr.org/2026/07/22/n...

Editing the first Red River @shojoandtell.bsky.social episode, and I don’t know if it’s that insightful, but it is, so far, fun, imo (42 mins in of like 2hr 5m). I hope that people like whatever we’re gonna add to the milieu of information on this series!
Making a conscious effort to try to ask the question “why am I not confident in my personality and unique tastes?” instead of asking the question “why can’t I be normal?” every time I’m confronted with my position as a societal weirdo.
My corny Philadelphia-area heart is so into this Menzingers song. m.youtube.com/watch?v=agCQ... Been trying to increase my listening of @wprb.com. Heard it on there yesterday!

This thing where I increasingly want to see the openers more than the main acts is really difficult for me because it goes against whatever is in my nature that makes me late to everything.
Got tickets today to go see Metric and Stars tomorrow (this is WILDLY last minute for me but not _actually_ last minute so okay…). More for my husband than for me, but I am always down for live music (especially by bands I like, though I don’t have deep catalog knowledge of this lineup).
I finished THE TSAR OF LOVE AND TECHNO yesterday and I desperately wanna talk to someone about it. www.npr.org/2015/10/06/4... It was so good!

Anthony Marra's new short story collection is a hundred-year relay of Russian history, full of black, bone-dry humor and characters who are often (but not always) as awful as the worlds they live in.

Oh wait, this proposed law change is for permanent daylight savings time? Hell no! Standard time or keep switching. I already can’t sleep this whole summer! Please get me back to standard time!! www.nytimes.com/2026/07/27/s...

Me: gotta get these packages inside at the end of lunch, looks like it could rain As soon as I open the door: _lightning alarm goes off_ 🙂↕️
I cannot figure out how to properly operate my weed whacker and I hate admitting it because it feels like the dumbest gendered thing to say. But this thing is my nemesis. (Specifically, how to properly string it so it’s not breaking all the time and requiring manual intervention.)
just realized i am unprepared for the first dj american politician when they come
*sits backwards on chair* hey kids, you know how we told you the last guy was just an ordinary bloke who loved pints football?! Check *this* guy out!
Nothing like waking up in the morning way too early and then actually doing important stuff before the full awake hits with all the doubts. Applied to DJ at the Polls! Signed up for a wedding DJ course! Now, when will I work up the courage to ask the local ice rink to let me DJ public skates…
I love Escaflowne. I hate this ending/theme.

Just finished my first live gig! Gonna make a video about everything that went wrong and why it doesn’t matter :) (will make it tomorrow or Monday because after DJing for 4.5 hours outside I am TIRED). Husband did me some sidewalk art because he loves me 🥹
Am I a fool or are people who put QR codes on digital flyers fools? Multiple friends have sent me digital flyers for things with QR codes on them. And I’m like… so now I gotta bust out a computer or a second phone to scan this? I don’t get it. Just link me up!
I listened to an old Podigious episode today (from 2015) and: 1. I was startled by how Asher’s voice sounded 2. I was surprised how bad the audio sounded overall 3. I had to admit this was 11 years ago and I spontaneously combusted
Man, humans are so wild. We’re all over here being jealous and envious of each other. Like, try not to! Go be you and share it with the world! Go do things you like because you like them! Have fun! Be different! Be nice! That’s all.
In the spirit of fairness to the universe, it’s shaping up to be a really nice finish to July? Like the feel of ye olden days of summer? Yesterday the high was 82 and it was beautiful. I was out by the river until midnight and it was nice and cool.
1am brain: Aren’t we all tired of spin? “Spinning without the spin!” Shit! That would be a good DJ tagline! ^ can’t wait for 10am brain to disagree.
Not me sitting in a parking lot for 45 minutes in the dark waiting for an old classmate who is now a DJ to appear and let me in to a whole new world of radio DJing. No. (Yes. Yes, I am waiting patiently for them.)
