Battle Beasts Berserker Bear! Not one of my favourite Battle Beasts as he feels a lil generic and the head sculpt is a bit soft. Nice colours and a badass axe make up for it though. Seems to have borrowed his headgear from Lobot

Hare today, gone tomorrow! Making the most of the friendly neighbourhood lagomorphs that live in the fields behind me. Breaks my heart that the fields will soon by houses & I worry it’ll all go Watership Down. A hare likes to hang out with the rabbits & you can really see the difference side by side

Battle Beasts Sabre Sword Tiger! Battle Beasts were rarely prehistoric creatures (there’s a few up in the high numbers of the Japan-exclusive Laser Beasts but they are insane money) so this guy is very welcome. Love that his pauldrons have sabreteeth too! Cleverly he’s armed with a fencing sabre🤺

Battle Beasts Sly Fox! This cunning canine has an appropriately sly grin. His armour is a little dull with no extra weapons but it pleases me immensely that he shares his colours with his fellow 1987 Hasbro-made tummy-powered fox guy, Ectar from Visionaries

Battle Beasts Swiny Boar! You’d wear a gas mask if you spent most of your time wallowing in poo. “Swiny” isn’t really a word but I’m not about to argue when he has such a pointy weapon. I like how his tusks poke out from the mask & like to imagine the orange bit fires lasers & flashes when he talks

Spotted a Jim Henson thing on Prime from 1989 that I had COMPLETELY memory-holed until today - The Ghost of Faffner Hall. Was a weird sensation of spontaneously remembering it existed. It’s only ok so can understand why I’d forgotten it but normally got a pretty good memory for that sort of stuff

This cybernetic canine appears to have a loveheart on his forehead, maybe he commutes to Beast from the Forest of Feelings? ❤️ He also has big red nipple guns & an unusual big bracer on his right arm, perhaps for steadying his big doggie rifle?

Battle Beasts Sawtooth Shark! Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water (or fire. Or wood). His armour is covered in fin-like blades perfect for cutting through both water & flesh & he has shoulder blasters to torpedo his foes’ plans

Battle Beasts Panzer Panda! Every time I think I’ve found the best Battle Beasts name another little rubber tank rolls onto my lawn to further educate me. What Panzer Panda lack in caterpillar tracks and cannons he gains in enormous cleavers. He certainly isn’t going to struggle hacking down bamboo!

Battle Beasts Bloodthirsty Bison! When he’s not busy yeeting tourists at Yellowstone he can indulge his bloodlust in battle with his pincer, axeblade and cybernetic horns. Those yellow details on his forehead could be missiles/grenades to make his charge even deadlier

Increasingly I think I’ve reached the end of collecting new toys as they have passed my cost/joy threshold. I’ve not bought a new Transformer since Jan despite liking the look of what has come out as they are just too expensive & I hate preorder culture. Even sale prices aren’t tempting me

Was VERY excited for this year’s retro Kenner Real Ghostbusters offerings until I saw the prices. £72.99 for the Ecto-Glow Copter? Yeah, recreated prototype (which I love) but it’s a small vehicle and a figure. Ecto-1 was only £50. £100 for some empty cans of Ecto-Plazm is a bit hard to swallow too

I’ve been binge watching 80s Neighbours episodes (yeah, I know) & was pleasantly surprised to see Lucy Robinson watching He-Man & the Masters of The Universe (“The Time Corridor”). Proper clip with audio & everything. Other 80s goodies have included Danny Ramsey having a Godaikin and a Game & Watch

Battle Beasts Run Amuck Duck! One is never alone with a rubber duck though you’d be quackers to want to be left alone with this particular rubber duck given his wicked blade hand, axe & the Takara Special missile batteries in his shoulders (same circular design possessed by Big Convoy & Fire Convoy)

There isn’t a great deal of blue on him but I guess Blue Eagle sounds a lot cooler than a more literal “Primarily Grey & Olive Brown Eagle” would. Small amount of blue aside he looks friggin’ awesome & his eagle-themed rifle is rather amazing

Battle Beasts Pirate Lion/Beastformers White Leo! The face of the franchise (Takara does love a Kimba-coloured leader lion) who ended up on a fair bit of merch. Awesome sword though I’m not sure he has the depth perception to use it to defeat the dastardly Gruesome Gator #vintagetoytuesday

The Kenner Real Ghostbusters pack-in poster calendar - May! Banshee Bomber is May’s menace, gooping Ray’s tools as he works on Ecto-1. BB is drawn quite a bit smaller than the toy which I’m sure Ray’s hand is grateful for (… I remembered to post this on the 1st!)

Battle Beasts Pugnacious Penguin! Awesome name, awesome body type. Probably the least anthropomorphised Battle Beast but that’s a good thing as who doesn’t love an armoured penguin? (ok, Keaton Batman at Christmas, but apart from him). I’m a big fan of aquatic beasts with harpoons & his is the best

Battle Beasts Antic Anteater! Bright red for some reason (maybe he’s been eating fire ants?). The red does look lovely with his armour. Like a real anteater he’s got impressive claws. Interesting weapon that looks useful for grabbing multiple ants at once
