was going through my correlations and this stood out: among defencemen with at least 2000 minutes at 5v5 and 500 tracked minutes at 5v5 over the last two years, here are Olen Zellweger's comparables by rate of carried zone entries/60 and individual expected goals/60. This is... pretty good

Just finished fantasy projection correlations - hope to have the projections done in a couple weeks but it's still summer so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ - and looking at rush contributions/60 and cycle+forecheck contributions/60, the rush side correlated *way* better to future goals/assists/points the last 2 years

Writing about this more tomorrow, but as I make my way through my projections, Philip Broberg stands out, and not necessarily in a positive light. I think he's an excellent real-life defenceman, but here are his last 2 seasons by some playmaking and transition data compared to Jackson LaCombe:

Penultimate episode of HotD tonight and I’ll say this much: if they nail the final two episodes, this might be the best season of Thrones since season 4. I wouldn’t argue having S6 ahead of it, but either way it’s the best in a decade.

Was curious so I looked up the Jays' win-loss record this season in games where they gave up 3 or 4 runs. So far, they are 13-25, which is a 34% win rate. The Los Angeles Angels - on pace for 61 wins - are 9-13 in those types of games, a 38% win rate. lol. lmao, even.

This is a good idea. I’m gonna see how many I can get through (no chance I get to 100). 1) The Cutting Room (2015) Dir. Warren Dudley Faux documentary about a missing English girl. I’ve definitely seen worse but not one I’d recommend.

Back at it! 100 Horror Movies in 92 Days. August 1st - October 31st via @sarahstubbssays.bsky.social:
Watch 100 horror movies you’ve never seen. There is no limit or requirement on the daily movie count. 1. The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971) Dir. Robert Fuest

When looking at combined xGF/60 at 5v5 in 2023-24 using 2024-25 rosters, and looking to GF/60 at 5v5 in 2024-25, there's a pretty poor correlation. Much stronger correlation for 2024-25 to 2025-26 tho (evolving hockey)

Tweet-length review of Spider-Man Brand New Day: He's a character I never clicked with - comics or movies - and this is easily my favourite of the four Holland movies. It looks great, the action is well done, and everything with Spidey/MJ/Punisher worked well. Full marks from me.

I had completely missed the news of a Ghost Rider movie with Ryan Gosling. I know that opinions aren't very high on the MCU right now, but Ghost Rider was one of my Mount Rushmore comic books to read as a kid and the Cage movies didn't scratch that itch. I am excite.
