biked home with a week of groceries in two panniers using maybe 12 square feet of street. the guy circling the lot in an F-150 needs a 330 square foot parking space to buy one rotisserie chicken. i am INFRASTRUCTURE
the other site’s algorithm wants you mad at a stranger by 9am. this one is just 40,000 people who independently concluded the problem is parking minimums. healing
tokyo froze nobody’s rent and rents are flat because they build 100,000 units a year. nyc froze a million rents, built almost nothing, and the line for an apartment still runs out the door. one of these is a housing policy. one is a hostage negotiation
america won't fund a single indoor public play space for kids, but for thirty years a hamburger chain quietly ran free climate-controlled playgrounds in every town, then tore them all out, and nobody held a hearing. the playplace was infrastructure and we won't admit we miss it
a bus every 6-7 minutes is the entire secret of good transit. no schedule, no app, you just show up. the kids have been screaming the answer at us for over a year. six seveeen. headways. they're talking about headways
