solo gamedev Nowhere Patrol + Chromahertz https://slugsoft.dev

Work on the Nowhere Patrol patch is almost done. The game will be a bit more fun to play with the quality of life changes and it should™️ preform better.

I'm still working on stuff by the way. I just don't like marketing or posting on social media at all. But I'll post about it when I'm ready. Maybe when I'm finished?

after stumbling around with 3D for a bit I'm really understanding things and having a good time. combined with the net code stuff i was researching i'm feeling really inspired. like, damn...i can make anything....

I want to thank everyone again for helping spread the Switch port announcement of Nowhere Patrol. I got overwhelmed and couldn't reply to everyone. I do a lot of hit & run posts on my social media but anyway, thanks.

I want to talk more about my new project but I'm channeling that energy into research and progress right now... It's 3D so I have some things to Learn including more 3d modeling. But I'm excited to share it soon.

The level select screen in Nowhere Patrol was heavily inspired by the boss rush intro screen from Kirby & The Amazing Mirror. I think Kirby did it better, but these days I could definitely top it...

one of the nice things about Nowhere Patrol's Nintendo Switch port is twinstick controls... I think it makes the game a little easier but it's optional.

thanks for the interest and kind words about the announcement, everyone. it's a VERY big help because I'm a quiet artist if you haven't noticed by now... Still have to put in a lot of work on my end to spread it around tho

definitely not sure what project to commit to right now. I've figured out netplay stuff so it feels like the possibilities for multiplayer games are endless. But do I really want to chip away at Chromahertz for a year or two while I have a job...

the Nintendo Switch version of nowhere patrol (coming soon) has a lot more quality of life features that are absent from the steam version... it wouldn't take long at all to port those over.

lately i've been 🎸jamming a lot with my neighbor. this time he brought a friend over that sings really well. it was interesting having someone sing over my music......

not sure if other music people can relate, but i'm straight up addicted to the songs i write. even if i don't think they're that good. it has to be because i listen to them thousands of times as i'm making them lol

I believe I have all the problems with netcode for Chromahertz figured out. I just have a lot of code to write. Very little to rewrite though, so that's cool. But for now I need to finish up some Nowhere Patrol stuff™
