Of course, Trump takes all the credit for it. U.S. prescription drug prices fell 0.8% in July and are down 3.1% from a year ago. Mostly due to a law from Joe Biden's time in office that allowed Medicare to negotiate with pharmaceutical companies.

Pay up, Donny! The Supreme Court declined for a second time to take up President Donald Trump’s bid to overturn a jury verdict that awarded $5 million to writer E. Jean Carroll for alleged sexual abuse and defamation.

The people - all the people - are the electricity that runs democracy. Resistance produces heat... and light. We must keep turning the heat up and letting the light shine brighter as we do so.

Trump's blathering about rigged elections is profoundly insulting to all the civic-minded volunteer poll workers. These men and women freely take time out of their lives to make sure we have free, fair, and well-administered elections. What a slap in the face to these truly patriotic citizens!

It's true. Snopes verified that SecDef Hegseth actually announced mandatory testosterone-level screening for troops. And he did not appear to make an exception for women. Whoa... does this mean that women will go into the military and come out men? Quick, someone tell the President.

Here's an interesting irony about Trump's claim of election rigging in 2020. When he won in 2016, Obama was in office. No rigging. And when he won in 2024, Biden was in office. No rigging. But when he lost in 2020, he was in office. So, did he rig the election against himself? Duh!

The midterms are more important than ever. Congress doesn't need the President to pass legislation. Any bill that passes the House and Senate by 2/3 or more will become law in 10 days, whether he signs it or not. We can make Trump irrelevant! He won't just be a lame duck; he'll be a plucked duck.

A sign of things to come? Just past 3 a.m. this morning, workers began removing President Trump’s name from the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in compliance with a federal judge’s ruling that the attempted rebranding was unlawful.

During his presidential campaigns, Trump often emphasized how he would do things "quickly." He had a reason. In recent court arguments, the DOJ spelled it out: Break the law so quickly no one can stop him. The damage is done. His power, demonstrated. Their example: bulldozing the Statue of Liberty.

Worth noting. While this year marks the 250th anniversary of American independence, it is also the 237th anniversary of another world-changing No-Kings protest: Bastille Day, Tuesday, July 14. Vive La France!

Washington already has a ballroom. The Great Hall at the National Building Museum is 36,636 sq. ft. with a ceiling rising from 75 ft at the entrance to 159 ft under the atrium. It seats 2,000. Trump’s Grand Ballroom is about 25,000 sq. feet, with a 40-ft ceiling. The Great Hall is almost 50% larger.

Don't fall for it. Trump likes the idea of renaming U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement to National Immigration & Customs Enforcement. So, agents become "NICE", not "ICE". They weren't "U.S. ICE" agents, so "National" doesn't make a difference. Call it manure or shit. It still stinks.

The Secret Service is to be commended for their courageous protection of the President and everyone at the White House Correspondents' Dinner last night. As corrupt as this administration is, violence can never be the remedy. Ballots, not bullets. In a democracy, our weapons are ideas... not guns.

Trump and Hegseth say Iran started this war 47 years ago in 1979 when they took Americans hostage. Wrong! We started it in 1954 when we imposed a dictatorship that brutalized its opponents, especially Islamic clerics.

Here's an interesting historical note. The last time we sent astronauts to the moon, the President (Richard Nixon) ended up resigning. It appears, to quote Robert Heinlein, the moon is a harsh mistress.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth - a former National Guard major - fired 4-star General Randy George, the Army’s Chief of Staff. Like his boss, Hegseth is a petty little man unable to deal with people with character, honor, and intelligence. Once again, incompetence trumps (pun intended) competence.

Please explain this to me: Trump has essentially told NATO they are on their own to fight their own battles. Despite facing a nuclear-armed adversary, Russia. He doesn't want to get sucked into a foreign war. So, why doesn't he say that to Israel? Which has sucked us into a foreign war.

The "Deal Maker in Chief" may need to go back and read the book he supposedly wrote. Suddenly, he needs the help of all those allies and other countries from whom he has extorted trade deals. Now, they are in a position to extract concessions from him. So much for "The Art of the Deal"!

President Trump called on other countries to send warships to the Strait of Hormuz as fighting in the Middle East rattles the global economy. Why should others put their service men and women in harm's way because of Trump's catastrophic, ill-conceived, and ego-driven war?

Affordability? Gas prices are just the beginning. Fuel costs affect the shipment of products from overseas and the imported components used in US-made products. Delivery costs will go up. Fertilizer costs will rise, impacting farmers and food costs. It's bad now. It'll get worse.

Trump is following the same old playbook. Mousolinni created a pretext to launch a war against Ethiopia. Hitler created a pretext to launch a war against Poland. Japan created a pretext to launch a war against China.

There was a catch. Remember when Trump ran for president in 2024, he promised to start "no new wars," and asserted that Kamala Harris would send the "sons and daughters of Americans to a war in a country that you’ve never heard of." There's the catch. We've heard of Iran. So it must be OK,

Send this to Congress: The President just started a war with Iran without Congressional authorization in violation of Article I, Section 8, Clause 11 of the Constitution and his own repeated promises not to engage in foreign wars or regime change. What are you going to do about it?
