Calculations show that expansion patterns could move from subtropical regions into temperate zones, accompanied by substantial changes in species composition.

Are MPAs in the transition zone between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea effective? We have mapped cumulative effects of multiple stressors in the Skagerrak. Anchored in this, and a statistical model, we have compared pressures within outside the MPAs. Most MPAs are so-called 'paper parks'.

This is a huge coordination success & a lot of work in the last years. A global call across many synthesis centre on "Interaction of climate and biodiversity"

We reviewed 73 professional societies across 42 countries. Only 18% had codes of ethics or similar documents addressing responsibilities of individual members. Most focus on advancing science & far fewer articulate responsibilities toward sustainability or society.
Despite decades of research, environmental crises continue to escalate. So we asked: Are ecologists and environmental scientists (EES) doing enough — and do we have clear guidance for how to act?
