honestly I don't think people are even that resistant to engaging in bad faith debate, I think people like this are just so used to being boosted by algorithms and bots that their ability to even make low effort rage bait has atrophied massively

A sea of 6/10 shows with a hundred episodes that you reliably got more of and when nothing else you liked was on you knew it was time to turn off vs getting a couple 9/10 shows that take years to make and get canned after 10 episodes and you spend more time looking for things to watch than watching.

The TOS being so strict that they control you offsite is the problem; sites like Patreon and Kofi have offsite clauses too. The social criminalization of the suggestion that somewhere you might be doing nsfw is a problem. It's branding a person as obscene and we need consumers to stand up for us

The reason to have diverse writers rooms isn't just to because it's nice to give opportunities to many different people, it does have a tangible effect on the quality of work, i.e. it's more likely someone on the team will read things like this and go "hold on guys, wait a second."
