ok as a compromise, here's the first 12 of the 24 pages of the coffee volume 1 zine. these are printed on an epson 8550 photo printer on matte presentation paper right here, so the colours are bold and the detail is excessive.

i guess this is a dumb question but -- before buying an art zine, do you want to see thumbnails of all the pages in it? would that help you decide? i mean obviously not high resolution, but definitely "oh look at all the pretty art" kind of thing.

i'm pleased with how the ink simulation is working out. these svg-based renders in the third coffee volume are so close to the original ballpoint-based plots on off-white paper i'm shaking my head. i'm really trying to make these zines worth having as art books.

second zine is done, experimental landscapes 1. i don't expect or even suggest anyone to buy zines until i have a few more listed because shipping costs are so high, it hardly makes sense to order just one. that's just the facts.

having finished the "deconstructed nudes 1" zine i am now working on "experimental landscapes 1" so this is a lot of what i am staring at; very careful recreations of plotter prints. i'm using scans of the real plots as colour references, the zines are made from the original svg files.

I saw these plastic vase filler cubes and thought: i could make something with those. So i bought two packsvand made a Soma cube puzzle, adhering the pieces with transparent uv curable glue. Then printed a little stand with uncoloured filament.

i don't expect anyone's noticed but i've adjusted the halo clock's "feels like" temperature equations to reflect canada's humidex and wind chill calculations, and done some smooth interpolation between them when necessary to prevent discontinuities.

i've got the plotter simulator pre-processor just about done. to portray ink you have to handle overlapping lines; they must be darker at the crossings. you even have to handle lines that overlap themselves, which requires a whole other level of geometric trickery.

new printer arrived and set up. bit underwhelming on regular paper as all inkjets are, but very acceptable on inkjet stock. now i need to find the right medium weight matte paper

still working on creating the best plotter art simulations i know how. it's not that i can't run a plotter anymore, there's one sitting right here. it's that it would be nice to offer prints and zines that look nice at prices that don't make most people go "uh no" in this economy

Halo Clock #pride flag of the day: asexuality This one is an analogue theme with the purple hand the hours, the bright white hand minutes, and a very wide dim grey "gap" band as the seconds -- the centre of the gap indicates the hand position.

it's gonna be gay HALO Clock Flag of the Day: Pansexuality three colour bands, starting at the hour hand positon (quarter past 9): cerise, canary, sky. the flag rotates with the time.
