Spot on from @georgemonbiot.bsky.social North Sea drilling makes no economic or energy security sense - but “the policy could scarcely be better designed to give the final push to voters who are minded – after so many disappointments since 2024 – to abandon Labour for a progressive alternative”

It hasn’t taken the Chancellor long to sound the retreat on the hope the country needs. We are gripped by a cost of living crisis and need action now. Lower bills, wealth taxes and an end to the great water rip off. Thames Water into public ownership now. No more excuses

But he won't cough up the cash.

It’s shocking how water companies have gotten away with polluting our waterways with sewage. We’re handing in our petition next week, and we need to make sure the Government can’t ignore us. We’re pushing for 350,000 signatures — can you add your name and help us get there?

Paul Marshall, the co-owner of GB News, has tripled his hedge fund investments in fossil fuel companies in the first quarter of 2026 to £2.1bn. They're a propaganda channel cashing in on destroying our future. Always follow the money.

Zack Polanskis four biggest climate claims explained and why experts disagree

Losing access to our drinking water is a huge risk. Over half of the country is in drought, yet we're losing 3bn litres of water daily through leaky pipes - which water companies won't fix because it's not profitable. Public ownership NOW to protect the public vist.ly/5duz4

Zack Polanski ‘absolutely right’ about privatisation threatening water security, water campaigner says

'Leaky pipes and a lack of reservoirs are inevitable outcomes of privatisation.'

Everywhere I look today I keep seeing: 1) deadly wildfires ripping through our communities 2) people desperately trying to get by as energy costs soar 3) record oil & gas profits When will we see that these three things are connected? www.wsj.com/business/ene...

Big Oil Is Reaping Rewards From the Chaos in Energy Markets

So much for devolution Prime Minister Andy Burnham. This centralised power grab is the exact opposite. 362 square miles of planning authority ripped away from local councils and local people. It's easy to talk a good talk but if you're more than just hot air, you'll reverse this.

We are grateful to @nataliegreenpeer.bsky.social for opposing the Greater Cambridge Development Corporation. Unfortunately, the vote favored the DevCo, which has now been approved, and will strip residents and councillors of their democratic rights and hand control to an unelected corporation.

When the story of why humanity didn't stop climate change is written, it will feature front pages like this. Even as the skies blacken with climate change-induced wildfires, right wing media continue their relentless crusade against measures to tackle it.

The Times: Net zero risks blackouts. Below a photo of French wildfires.

“People see the shiny towers and executive flats in the city centre, while rents rise and our towns are left behind. They know this is Labour’s record.” Geraldine Coggins calls out an economy that works for developers while communities across Greater Manchester are neglected.
