Checking out at grocery store yesterday, clerk saw diapers in my cart & asked me my kids ages. I told her & she proceeded to tell me her kids and how she has one that would have been turning 38 this year. Served Afghanistan and never came back the same. Gut wrenchingly sad.
One of the funniest and weirdest interviews I ever conducted was over Zoom. I was hiring a new employee. Guy was sitting in a dark not well lit corner but you could see he’s there and he decides to impress me he’d light a joint. Yes it was cannabis industry but no that’s still not appropriate.
Still riding that crushing an interview high. Seems corny but I always like to send paperless post “thank you”s to folks who interview me. Most folks seem to not send cover letters these days but hardly anyone sends a thank you. Do yourself a favor & thank them. Stand out send both!
Just absolutely crushed an interview. Like the guy straight up goes “I’m pretty sure you’re our guy. I’ve loved talking with you. You get it brother! I’m going to do what I can to get you in here.” Nice to know I still got it.

48 hours into solo dad week and everyone is still alive and there hasn’t been too many tears. 8 year old getting jealous of 2 year olds attention so when 2 year old naps, 8 year old and I go “tubbing” (go in hot tub at safe kid levels). Also played video games together on a non-video game day.

Cheap healthy meal prep. I made 12 jars of chia pudding. It’s chia seeds, unsweetened coconut milk, some vanilla extract, maple syrup, pinch of salt. Top with fruit of your choice (I do strawberry and blueberry). It’s super healthy and filling.
Now to prepare for the hot tub installation on Thursday. Wife is travelling to India for work for a week. I hope the kids will be fine on their own as I thoroughly test the new hot tub.
