On this day in 2013, we lost keyboardist extrordinaire, George Duke. He collaborated with Jean-Luc Ponty, Frank Zappa and Stanley Clarke on 32 albums during his illustrious career. One of the smoothest cats in jazz. Continue to rest in eternal peace, bro. 😢

I remember that day. My friend George ran over to my house to tell me that Thurman Munson was killed in a plane crash. I didn’t believe it until I saw the news on ch 7. It didn’t seem real. 46 years later, it still doesn’t seem real. All life changed after that moment. Rest easy, Captain. 😢🙏🏾⚾️

On this day 45 years ago, we lost Harry Chapin. The Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter was killed in a car accident on the Long Island Expressway on his way to a concert. Chapin campaigned to end world hunger, and was posthumously awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for his humanitarian work.
