jumping the gun a little but I think I'll set up a special section on the website for my comics once there are a few more. it's fun and I'm hoping to keep pushing myself and trying things. Even just having done a few of these, I've already learned a few tricks.

no it's because fiction isn't actually designed to replicate "good military tactics." some of this stuff is stupid (I would agree that the "playing dead" example in this thread is ridiculous) but it's not some "mistake" they made because they don't understand tactics. it's a choice.

Modern TV and film are full of these sorts of over-complicated nonsense tactics you could never use in real life, because writers seem to imagine that good military tactics have to be terribly clever, when in fact they generally have to be terribly *reliable* so you can pull them off.

cleavage is just such a funny thing because if I could objectively look at it it's really just two matching body parts pressed together. but I cannot look at it objectively, and instead I turn into a desperate starving animal set loose in a steakhouse.

very niche thing question. when you take a screenshot on a mac computer is there a preference somewhere to not show me the little preview in the corner? I really thought that they already didn't include that so you could take rapid fire screenshots but uhhh apparently not.

a long-term writing project is figuring out how to describe accurately and vividly and beautifully the pain-pleasure of extreme romantic and sexual longing that I've felt my whole adult life and never quite been able to describe

the other day I said I was feeling frustrated at being encouraged to go to events and things in public when absolutely no one talks to strangers, saying how is that going to help me get better at it, and she said well one reason is to keep you from isolating so much you become agoraphobic.
