I reread one of my very favorite books over the weekend, Deep Survival by Laurence Gonzales, for probably the first time since 1998 when it was first released. What an absolute banger of a book, even at the structural level.
Only a tiny fraction of the people I follow on main, even longtime mutuals, interact with my posts there. Almost unfailingly the only people who do so consistently are you guys. I think it suggests Bluesky media and profesh folks have far, far less bandwidth than small, recreational accounts do.

He also talked about how much Chinese consumers appreciate the brand name being localized for them, and how China is their largest global market. This guy seems to really associate Yibo's confidence and boldness with the confidence and boldness of the company itself.

She now is demanding that I re-ask [original homophobic relative who rejected it] to read it now that it's been sanitized.

I'm so relieved and touched 😍
