I still have t-shirts that are older than ICE. Abolish & prosecute.
GOP in power: Let’s gut national health care, science, dissolve the Department of Education. Day One. DEMS in power: Now hold on ICE may be committing thousands of crimes, killing & detaining US citizens, but it’s an agency that’s almost 25 years old and we don’t want to mess with it too radically.
The worst thing about my undiagnosed fatigue & pain is the number of days I spend in bed, barely awake & lacking most fine motor skills. #ChronicIllness #LabsAreNormal
Absolutely gutted to hear of Gloria Forouzan's passing. Her commitment to #Pittsburgh history was an absolute inspiration. She was instrumental in organizing the 2016 Pittsburgh Bicentennial's "mayoral reunion." Her fb page "Notable Pittsburgh Women" is a wellspring of oft-overlooked stories.
Damn... dude's mom must have told him to get a job to buy his own pizza rolls.
Unaffectionate woman can literally die and go to hell deasass
That's right, there are 31 days until I need to pay for top surgery! Insurance & credit BS has left me without coverage or other options. Please send a few dollars to help close this gap, so that I can access necessary healthcare ⛰️⛰️ To all who spread the word and donate, thank you 💙

I don't know many people in these circles these days, but a thread that names a sex pest is always shared.
So … if you know my early work, you know I’ve written on energy vampirism - the first definitive book on the topic I founded a group called House Kheperu 30 yrs ago to teach the techniques & rituals Had a fellow who went by Narradas who was a member starting in the early 2000s (cont’d)
...and another postcard was calling him out for putting party over his daughter & grandchild. I'm glad to be wrong about that (for now).
Bernie Moreno puts Max Miller in the dumpster hours after the Congressman refuses to exit his increasingly contested race.
Literally what I put on this week's postcard to Bernardo's office.
Seriously, Ohio, get your shit together. This is embarrassing.
Damn... is he some sort of nobility? There are hollers in Southern WV less inbred than this guy.
An 8 employee hedge fund that was up hundreds of percent and used aggressive leverage is asking investors for more cash to meet margin calls. The tropes in this particular bull market couldn’t get any lazier. www.ft.com/content/2803...
“Billionaires create wealth.” No, workers do that. The word you’re looking for is “hoard.”
Data centers are the new shale gas wells. I remember these same empty promises from 15-20 years ago.
Hassett: "Data centers are very good for towns bc they create so many jobs & bring people in with high incomes that can buy houses & stuff like that. So if you take a sleepy town that hasn't seen much in the last 30 years & put a data center there, there are gonna be a bunch of happy residents."
The only difference between Jared Leto and Russell Brand is hair conditioner.
Can confirm. (Un?)fortunately, my partner & I have different nerdy foci.
I have a personal belief that the more a person is a nerd for something: dinosaurs, The Odyssey, etc, the less likely they are to enjoy a popular entertainment version of that thing.
Once in a while, I'm reminded of how long I've lurked on @fark.com. I preemptively rotsky'd a post because I knew my farker friend would if I didn't.
If Berkman shot Frick with the same accuracy as he shot himself, I understand how Frick survived.
#OtD 23 Jul 1892 Jewish anarchist Alexander Berkman tried to assassinate the industrialist Henry Clay Frick, responsible for the murder of nine striking miners by Pinkerton thugs. Berkman shot him twice and stabbed him but Frick survived stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/9568...
My old-person trait is always using self checkout. I'm very particular about how things are bagged.
Avoiding self checkout whenever possible. Especially at Aldi’s because that telephone ringer noise that alerts the whole store you messed up is embarrassing.
Schrödinger’s cat? Did you mean Kentucky’s Senator?
@pghcitypaper.com What's a good contact for your Circ. dept? I need to change my payment method. Thanks!
Ed Wood. Cheap blonde wig, pink sweater, black pencil skirt & pumps. Eyeliner for a pencil mustache. And not having to shave my legs for it.
Name your fav Halloween costume.
Picard morality tip: The moment you consider yourself morally superior to someone due to your genetics is the moment you prove you are not.
Not the main focus of the article, but why is the FBI using commercial databases to determine if a voter was alive at the time of election? The SSDI & state death indices are more accurate.
1/ Wondering what the FBI has been doing with 2020 election materials it seized in a raid earlier this year, and how it figures into Trump’s plans for the midterm elections? Well, @ProPublica has been working to find out. 🧵👇
📢 Once more for the people in the back: - Most [more than 95%] of archives have not been digitized. - Most of humanity's knowledge and memory is *not* reachable by LLMs. - Believing that AI can provid you with comprehensive, definitive, "intelligent" results is folly.
Giving myself a headache in the archives
Ok, now take that & make it Medicaid.

My first time having United Healthcare and all I can say is that in a society with any kind of half-functional regulatory state it would not even be legal to call this insurance.
Back in the Olden Days™️, I drove from Thornhill (Toronto) to Montréal Ouest based on road signs & the landmarks I saw from a bus trip months earlier. My internal map & compass are still pretty good but certainly not like that a quarter century later.
If we're doing map discourse, one of my most old-person-coded beliefs is that you should be able to glance at a map and *generally* know the directions and landmarks and have a sense of how to navigate w/o Siri's step-by-step directions Like "we follow the highway to the lake and then to this town"
