finally got through Deltarune Chapter 5 light spoilers . . . . . . . . . Flowery's fight was a pain in the ass. died a lot of times, retreated to max out on GreenTea, specc'd Ralsei to have more magic at expense of health. spent a lot of time just reviving Susie so that she could have her idea.
Hmmmm Nintendo stuff. I'm loving the looks of Metroid Ravenous. people already made the Kirby joke, so I'll just say she's really reminding me of Metal Gear Rising's cut-and-take style gameplay. to think that Samus' niche in the Nintendo pantheon is being the biggest aura farmer there ever was
now that I'm getting into the swing of Splatoon Raiders, I'm really digging the new wrinkles on the gameplay. it feels partly like Ratchet Deadlocked with the arena swarms and the AI buddy, and partly like Destiny with the abilities on cooldown timer and the high jumping and slow floating.
I haven’t seen the Zelda Direct yet, but what I’ve seen of OoT Remake Link so far looks uhhhh over-designed. the textures are a bit much, and the lighting seems intent on accentuating the noise.
so I watched Mandalorian and Grogu as an inflight movie. it’s pretty pulpy, which is true to Star Wars’ roots. the big monster arena fight was pretty tasteful as far as key jangling goes. some of the later action was a bit much even for me, tho that might be bcuz I was watching on a red-eye flight
oh shit I just reached credits on Hades 1. ngl I wasn’t expecting this to be my next backlog game I’d check off the list, but hey I’ll take it. it’s kind of ironic in a classic Greek way. this run I played wise and made a reasonable build, only to SPOILERS? . . . . . . not need it in the end.
am I seriously considering getting the Metal Gear Solid 4 / Peace Walker PS5 port at launch for no good reason? why? David don’t do it. please see reason
the GTA6 preview is a pretty damn good preview. though idk why Netflix bothered getting exclusivity to it for like, a single digit amount of hours during the work week.
I saw Toy Story 5! I have thoughts on it, but I am currently tired from a long day. I will say for now that I would watch a full movie of the Buzz army. they are like the Minions. they have the speech and inspiration of cavemen, yet have the hypercompetence of Seal Team 6
Oops. I meant to post about The Odyssey more seriously the other day, but I was tired and figured I'd do it later. then got distracted by something else, then something else, then something else. almost like I went on an extended detour before doing what I originally set out to do. how familiar.
after Brand New Day and No Way Home’s revelation that MCU Peter literally never heard of Great Power Great Responsibility specifically before, I’m feeling more charitable towards Homecoming. like, I don’t need this movie to be something it’s not anymore. it’s just an 80s comedy with Spider-Boy

I really wish the Ahsoka show would just let live action Thrawn look like an old guy. I actually don’t imagine even fanboys would be too annoyed about Old Thrawn. and even if they were, it wouldn’t even be the worst publicity they’ve ever gotten!
This has like actually nothing to do with anything. maybe I can imagine that Doom was a charming yet tragic side character that was set up in Fantastic Four: Zeroth Steps. and that he had clever allusions all throughout Loki Season 3

oh cool, the MCU’s finally following up on White Vision, whose name sounds like some extremist group’s five year plan. genuinely though, I did wanna know more about his deal. I just think the moment for that must have been like three or four years ago.
sometimes I think I ought to stop watching movie trailers if I already know I’m gonna go. occasionally they spoil stuff I’d rather learn later, right? but even though I’m gonna see Avengers Doomsday regardless, they’re gonna have to do some explaining to rationalize how any of this adds up
I watched NGE with the Netflix dub back then, and I watched the Rebuild movies with subs. so this time I’m rewatching Rebuild with dub. I think it’s the original English dub cast? everyone sounds like they’re either pretending not to be old, or sound older than they’re supposed to be. except Mari
I haven’t booted it up in a while, but it’s a little funny to me that Spider-Man PS5 probably has like 7 similar movie suits that casual fans might not be able to distinguish, and like 8 fashion disaster suits that no one would wanna pick
I’m rewatching Spider-Man (2002). Sam Raimi’s New York is just filled with Some Guys. the extras get a lot of moments to shine, and the camera is often close with crowd shots. really helps sell the living city.
I saw Spider-Man: Brand New Day. I think it’s funny and sad that Peter is able to speed-run his comic book career and build his beloved friendly neighborhood celebrity status in like 4 years by completely neglecting his personal life. he became the brand man by letting the brand consume the man
I’ve now seen Aang movie. it’s very much an anime movie, with all the rule-breaking and let-us-never-speak-of-this-crazy-yet-nearly-inconsequential-event-again quality that might imply. it feels more like a Korra prequel than an Avatar sequel.
went to see the Hadestown Proshot yesterday. as I understand it, the story of Orpheus and Eurydice is normally a tragedy of faith and doubt. Hadestown is that too, but it is also the tragedy of becoming employed.
Spider-Noir is remarkably solid for being live action Sony Marvel. idk how it fares as detective noir since my only point of reference is RGG’s Judgment games. and Who Framed Roger Rabbit I guess. but it’s fun! normal Spidey does a fair share of detective work anyways, so I think it works out
