A Canadian Fella Who Enjoys World Peace and a Nice Bowl of Soup

Health Canada now requires a label on the of the front package of any food high in saturated fat, sugar, or sodium. I always check the nutritional label on the back of the package, but guess what? The frozen raw shrimp I buy is loaded with added salt! I never thought to check! Thanks Health Canada!

So, I normally like to keep things light here, but I was just talking to an American friend about healthcare and I was reminded how Americans need to fight. Within my family in the last three years we have had a heart attack, cancer, and a baby. $0.00. No “copay”, no deductible. No forms to submit.

As a Canadian, is it wrong for me to say that I have never felt so frightened and threatened by any country in my life more than I feel frightened and threatened, right now, by the United States of America? And I grew up during the years of the U.S.S.R.

Took my 87-year-old dad to Red Lobster for his birthday (yes it still exists in Canada). He had the all-you-can-eat shrimp (yes, that’s still a thing here too). He didn’t want to “fill up” on the “free” biscuits, but kept asking for more. Noticed his jacket pockets stuffed with biscuits as we left.

For those of us who live outside of the USA, let’s all remember that there are many good citizens who live there. So let’s be cautious when we are speaking against “Americans” that we are clarifying that it is the American GOVERNMENT that we have an issue with.

“snluck”, “snlook”? I’m trying to figure how to properly pronounce the new British show called SNL UK (I never understand the accents). I know nothing about the show, but it’s likely an incredibly creative crime drama with amazing acting. The Brits make the best shows! I hope Helen Mirren’s in it!

Trump said today that “Canada lives because of the United States”. Hmm. I kind of think that Americans die because of ICE and no access to universal health care.

Happy Thanksgiving! 🇨🇦 I hope everyone has a full belly (although most of us likely had our big meal last night or Saturday—but enjoying leftovers tonight)!
