We should have learned from Brexit; if you treat the propaganda and troll networks as a speech issue rather than a coercive and realtime security threat then the manipulation of the population will never end. Running factchecks isn’t enough; halting propaganda mills needs action.
A major issue the U.S. refuses to address is widespread media and functional illiteracy, making propaganda and disinformation easy to spread and manipulate public opinion. Corporations and politicians can even manufacture “grassroots” movements to undermine their competition.
Thankfully, there are still competent judges exercising their competency to protect the Constitution and our rights. The judge is correct. Don't like it? Don't go to the show, change the channel, turn off the TV -- these are your rights in the face of things you don't like.

Five corporations control 90% of the US media market. Airlines merged from 12 major carriers in 1980 to 4 today. Four giants control 80% of meat processing. The evidence of corporate consolidation is everywhere. It means more power for them and less freedom for you.
How we beat back the corporate takeover of America: 1. Break up corporate monopolies 2. Continue building union power 3. End Citizens United and get big money out of politics Let’s keep working to unrig the system.

This is another slap in the face of those who served in Viet Nam and came home to a country that dis-valued their service. Many tried to erase those servicemen back then, and the lack of regard for Viet Nam veterans in renaming a tribute to them is reprehensible.
