Today in New York, 40 national and regional solar and battery storage industry associations have come together to connect, learn and grow. Over 100 people. Every continent is represented.

To understand business you have to understand your competition. Wherever I go I always like to see not just the #solar, but also the other stuff…
Trust and experience matters. It was such a privilege to be at the Suntech 25 year anniversary event last month - and to see the @globalsolarcouncil.bsky.social’s very own Senior Advisor Jerry Stokes tell his story.

It warms my heart when I hear of grassroots human rights or humanitarian activists, in remote locations, who charge their laptops and phones with #solar to keep going in times of crisis, blackout and surveillance. Starlink + Solar + Storage might just bring freedom and democracy to all, who knows…
If I had a dime, for every single time, I see a massive advert featuring solar panels…
The truth is always more complicated than the initial headlines make it out to be...
The Iberian blackout last April was due to a “combination of numerous factors” contributing to an overvoltage cascade, including generation disconnections below safety limits and inadequate voltage control, European TSO group Entso-E said on Friday. montelnews.com/news/2aa8b1d...
I work weekends. Because I have to - I co-parent and can’t work enough, in my view, on weekdays. I do drop off and pick up every day, and there just aren’t enough hours in between (especially when you occasionally try and get to the gym).
Africa solar market up 6x after another record breaking year according to our @globalsolarcouncil.bsky.social analysis covered on @bloombergnews.bsky.social by Ruth Olurounbi #AMO2026 #PossibleWithSolar www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
Africa Solar Capacity Seen Rising Sixfold After 2025 Record
Africa recorded its fastest solar growth on record in 2025, driven by a surge in utility-scale projects, and could add more than six times last year’s annual capacity by 2029, according to a new indus...

Luckily, we don’t need a global consensus of 190 governments to build a solar farm, and 75m households - in Karachi, Lagos and Rio etc - haven’t needed it to put solar panels on their roofs. We’re getting on with it - the move away from fossil is already happening, don’t worry. #COP30 #COP30Brazil
Arrived at #COP30Belem where it is HOT - if you are here too come and join us at our #PossibleWithSolar 10th anniversary party on the evening of Friday 14 November where you can cool down with an ice drink and dip your feet into the pool 2dmybz.share-eu1.hsforms.com/2_fN_HkoyTXm...
Meet the team on the ground at #COP30 Belém. Can’t wait to meet you all there! #PossiblewithSolar+Storage
This gives me hope. Don’t give up on 1.5C. Never give up. Here in the #solar industry and in the @globalsolarcouncil.bsky.social we are pushing for more and more and more to keep us 1.5C aligned. #SolarCanDeliver #PossibleWithSolar
🚨🚨🚨 NEW REPORT ALERT 🚨🚨🚨 @climateanalytics.org has a new report out today that I’m really excited about. It’s all about 1.5ºC... ▶️ Is overshooting 1.5ºC inevitable? ▶️ Can we still get temperatures back below 1.5ºC? ▶️ If so, how? If you’re interested in our findings, buckle up for a mega thread...
🆕 ENTSO-E published their factual report presenting facts and data on the system conditions during the Iberian #blackout on 28 April 2025 Together with @unefotovoltaica.bsky.social and APREN - Associação Portuguesa de Energias Renováveis we have issued a statement ⬇️
We’ve done it - we now represent battery storage as well as solar. Big move, momentous moment. #BatteryStorage
⚡ Solar. Storage. Future Secured. ⚡ Global Solar Council is now the first global industry association to represent both solar PV and battery storage — strengthening the industry’s voice and driving the next phase of the clean energy transition. 🔗 globalsolarcouncil.org

The #powercut in Spain and Portugal is still being investigated and we do not know the exact cause yet. However what we do know is that this shows the need for #flexibility and short and long duration storage, and the ability for #rooftopsolar and storage to keep things going when the lights go out
We as renewables industries have a responsibility to be the best we can be and avoid any social acceptance and opposition issues in the future
