1 year + 1 day ago, guiodic made his first commit to “kwin-x11-improved” for a better #Plasma experience on X11. With that, he laid the foundation for #SonicDE that is now to become a full fork of #KDE. A big thank you to guiodic and a stay tuned to you all for more good news!

Yesterday we released #SonicDE version 6.7.2, which is compatible with the same #KDE Plasma version, 6.7.2, as usual. In addition to the KDE features, it includes a bugfix for the Sonic Login Manager so that it can better remember its settings.

Unfortunately, we have to say something about the planned announcement. Back in November 2025, we were told by a @kde.org representative: "We [KDE] will gladly give the project a shout out on social media for those who find the shift to Wayland a problem. This works for us." 1/3

We set up everything and waited 6 weeks for #KDE's announcement. Nothing. We repeatedly tried to contact the representative and his colleagues, but they didn't respond. That's a pity. We had high hopes and had already agreed on a good collaboration. 2/3
