One thing that really annoys me here living in NL is the constant use of our doorbell. Children asking for recycling, charities, neighbours being passive aggressive, please do not ring my doorbell if you do not want to talk to me - do not make me run downstairs for nothing several times a day.

Congrats to Hungary! I guess JD Vance shouldn’t be sent to influence anything as in Trump’s words he seems to be a big looser (cannot get myself to the all caps style though). Trying to influence elections did not work and Hungary is back as a EU partner and real member! 🎉🎉🎉

Just going to leave that here. Hope others follow his lead in becoming more independent from the U.S. and start resisting. It is indeed a new world order and living in the E.U. I hope our heads of state start finally saying 'no!' to the U.S. tyrant. www.bloomberg.com/news/videos/...

Carney Invokes “New World Order” in China Talks

So what’s next? Europe and the U.S. start military hostility? How come there is no mechanism in the U.S. to stop that maniac? The damage he has done to his country is already permanent but for the arrogance they carried about being the best democracy in the world the U.S. fell quickly.

That the question of international law is even asked- the latest U.S. movements are simply neo-colonialism. It is about oil and the U.S. decided they want it. The threats to Colombia and Greenland-next steps?

Back in grey cold NL. What a privilege that the women I met and know shared their spaces and lives so generously with me. I was invited to the most inspiring spaces which showed me how positive change can look like. Something desperately needed in the times we live.

Yesterday I had the amazing opportunity to get to know two communities in and close to Cali. Thanks again for inviting me. Both communities are extremely inspiring and show us how to create communities of care, something I hope I will be able to explore more in the future with colleagues in Cali.

That international development & cooperation is mistaken as charity by leading political figures should worry all of us. Shutting down USAID will have security consequences. E.g. no screening of people travelling by air from countries with Ebola outbreaks etc.

What an amazing workshop we had today in Medellin. It was great to be together again, share our achievements of the last years and think about future work on the role of women in urban transformations. Thanks to everyone who participated and I am looking forward working with you in the future!

Watching ‘when they see us’ episode 2 has a part in which Trump makes stupid remarks. Racist of course and just to make trouble. If we only would have known how dumb so many of the US population are voting years later and make him their hero who continues to destroy what he can.

First time in Cali. I cannot explain why yet but I immediately liked the city upon arrival. Rarely have that. After 15 years coming to Colombia it did surprise me how different Cali is and yet so familiar. Looking forward to explore more and build a network here. Give me a shout if you are around!

I already announced that I do not use my #twitter account anymore, but it’s time to delete it for good. I cannot be part of such a fascist platform. Hopefully Bluesky will become as connecting as Twitter once was. So please send the me here the interesting conferences, papers and projects 😊

Finishing a book manuscript of a pretty innovative co-authored book which I will tell you more about soon. However we do publish it in Spanish and English. This helped me once again realising how working in different languages really creates a greater sensitivity of the possible violence of words...
