Full of malignancy and an inventor of evil things.

So, the Cook County Inspector General had turned over a case to the Sheriff's internal Office of Professional Conduct that alleged a correctional officer had a stolen firearm and showed up to work under the influence and OPR seemingly did next to no investigation?

This complaint involved allegations that a CCDOC correctional officer was in possession of a stolen firearm and reporting to work under the influence of alcohol or drugs. OPR administratively closed the case because they could not contact the complainant. OPR did not interview the correctional officer, his supervisors, or coworkers. Based on its review, the OIIG has concerns that interviews were not conducted, locker search requests were not made, or a just-cause breath analysis or drug test were not performed on the officer.

I, the only data reporter at the Charlotte Observer, am among the McClatchy layoffs in the bloodbath today. The HR person asked me not to talk about it! AMA. Anyway, here’s a link to one of my most important stories this year. www.charlotteobserver.com/news/local/a...

A Black teen found hanged near Charlotte church was a suicide, police say. Questions remain

In May, 16-year-old Juliana Nzita was found dead in a Charlotte churchyard. CMPD called it a suicide. Her family isn’t so sure.

Glad McCuskey is stepping down, but nothing will change until the LEC and LIG are structurally changed. The purpose of a system is what it does (or in this case doesn’t do). And the entire legislative oversight apparatus has been built to do as little oversight as possible.

I feel like the actors who are saying yes to the new Harry Potter show think they’re getting cast as the new Daniel Radcliffe when they’re just getting cast in a washed up remake.

Good luck to all the stationary gays lining up outside of Paper and Pencil for Hobonichi drop day. I hope you all find the cutest little journal to use devotedly for 2-3 weeks before abandoning forever!

Saw both Batman (1989) and Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet this weekend. I would not have told you the two films had anything in common, but turns out both prominently feature at least one Prince song!

Always a risky move when men decide to “ironically” not answer prompts on dating apps. Babe, I assume you can’t read until you prove otherwise. This is not helping.

Is this imagine ingrained in anyone else’s memory by the way? Because the turtleneck and glasses combo has had a chokehold on me since I first saw this movie back when I was very young.

Michael Keaton, as Bruce Wayne, in a turtleneck and glasses.
