Absolutely adore these trees in my local woodland. Who'd've thought there'd be giant redwoods round here! (Wellingtonia/sequoiadendron giganteum) My entry for this week's #sharemondays2026

The avenue of giant redwood trees (that aren't that giant as they were only planted about 65 years ago). Sun is filtering through and the floor is littered with their soft brown needles.

Update on focus stacking software! Just tried Helicon, and pretty pleased with the results. Will try a couple of others. This was 12 photos stacked (used the in-camera focus stacking function on the Canon R5 mark ii) and cropped to get a little closer. This is going to be fun to work with!

Visited my local woodland today where this time last year I'd already found many mushrooms & fungi. Not surprisingly due to the dry summer they're behind schedule this year - barely saw any! Did see this nice little muscid fly on one. Trying focus stacking but need software recommendations...

Time for some turquoise loveliness. Icebergs in Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon in south-east #Iceland, taken with the drone (during allowable hours/season!) last November.

I once saw a mermaid on a beach in southern #Iceland.

Never seen so many cheese plants as here in #Belgium this weekend! Yesterday was Leuven’s Annual Fair (Jaarmarkt) day and everyone was buying them. They even feature in the street art 🪴🧀
