Can't draw to save my life. Writing? Let's not go there. But if it's merch, I probably own it. Your go-to reviewer for official and unofficial merch. Always: #jayvik √π Also: Tiger&Bunny, Yuumori, Hellaverse, WHA Sometimes: NSFW (🔞)

When I lay it all out like this, it really becomes apparent that so much of their dynamic is “I need someone to care for + I need someone who cares for me”………………………………………okay I’m gonna go cry 👍

And by the end, we find out it’s even worse than that— it’s not an act, it’s a *construct* made for him without his knowledge or consent for the past twenty years of his life. He’s left in the wreckage of a life and persona that had never been his!! He’s a human disaster!!!

Bunny is the opposite— he shows up as this image of youthful perfection, here to replace Kotetsu by upstaging him in literally every conceivable way. Looks, charisma, skill, strength—he’s untouchable. But it quickly becomes apparent that it’s an act! He’s lonely, he’s angry, lost, and emotional!

Kotetsu is depressed, down on his luck, and uses humor and self deprecation to hide from his problems and relationships—but he’s deeply kind and has a steadfast sense of justice, with a heart that unflinchingly guides him even at his lowest. When he stops running, he’s reliable, nurturing, even wise

I think a lot of my criticisms of how people depict Taibani can be summed up as “Kotetsu is more put together than you’d think, and Bunny is much less.” Which amazes me, because that’s…..kind of the plot of the show.

The taibani stage youtube account posted a short of Kotetsu's actor dancing in costume and he's so cute... I hope we get a video like that for the other heroes too (said for absolutely no reason)
