The Mac OS Control Panel by Susan Kare is such a remarkable UI. It was designed in 1984 without any text labels and fits in only 315x158 pixels.
That bring back memories. Just like today you are not sure this particular emoji will be displayed on every OS we were not sure about that particular color back in the days.
Will Boyd@codersblock.com · 2y agoWho remembers web-safe colors? In the early web days, there were only 216 colors blessed as "web-safe" -- you could expect them to look correct on all displays. It was extremely limiting for design! If you've ever noticed the "Only Web Colors" checkbox in Photoshop, it's a holdover from this.
