New satellite analysis of sea ice coverage shows that a ‘pause’ in Arctic winter sea ice decline seen in the early 2020s has ended. Over the 2024-25 peak winter period, the amount of sea ice fell by 5.8% - the largest drop on record. Read more: www.southampton.ac.uk/news/2026/07...
