"Wouldn't it be so much better if Din Djarin took off his helmet and really connected with Grogu?!" No, it would be different. It’s fine to desire a version of him, who is a warmer, more malleable, father figure, but at some point it behooves everyone to accept who the character actually is.

My short, spoiler-free review of The Mandalorian and Grogu:

Perhaps a lighter affair than could have been made, in The Mandalorian’s theatrical debut, but what’s there is quite fulfilling, meaningful, and fun, and it certainly has a heart big enough for the biggest of screens.

My entire afternoon was spent accomplishing the feat of securing passes for all four days of Star Wars Celebration 2027 (my first!), along with booking a flight and hotel. Hopeless as it started to feel, as the queue time went on, it was a rejuvenating success!

It’s been a while since I’ve directly recommended Super Switch Headz - the premier Nintendo podcast on all of the internet (it’s true!). Don’t make me have to do it again; just become a regular listener and greatly improve your quality of life.

Over the years, Nintendo sure has cancelled a lot of games. Friend of the show @xanagear.com returns to rank the games that never saw an official release. What’s your favorite vaporware title? Tune in wherever you get podcasts or watch the video version on YouTube: youtu.be/hgN5j6YuZO4

Tonight, our road to the Super Bowl goes through Pittsburgh. Whether the beautiful dream is realized, or our hopes come to an abrupt end, I'll always cherish this team - an exceptional group of high-quality human beings who are easy to root for and up to the task. Let's make it happen! #Texans

I am thankful to be alive, for all those who have made a positive impact on my life and on the lives of others, and for the continuing opportunity to brighten the world as best I can.

Rankins should've just gotten down at the end, but - fuck it - I kind of love that he didn't. What a beautiful ending to a complete resurrection of a comeback. I couldn't be more proud of these #Texans. I'm going to savor this one.

Sometimes it takes a bit of chaos, a testament to the fragility of things, but the past week of noise, firings, and political maneuvering surrounding the LSU football program has been a healthy reminder of the inseverable bond I have with it. For good or ill, it’s in my blood.

Over the years, I’ve gone out of my way to reduce my sports viewing/fandom to as casual a place as possible, but the NFL has remained the exception. I just love pro football, and the Texans, too much. It’s an affliction, of sorts, but an enjoyable one.

Having just taken in both Superman and the first season of Peacemaker, I’m thoroughly convinced that DC Studios is in good hands. Two very different tonal approaches and balances of reverence/irreverence, but the shared sincerity, passion, humor, and empathic storytelling has really won me over.

The games business is about games. If you’re in the games business, and somehow (as often happens) your company somehow is now focused on something else (AI, XR, “IP,” acquisitions, etc.) you’re in for a period of struggle. Everyone will wonder what’s wrong. But you know. It’s about games. Gameplay.

Long ago, in halcyon days, I registered a domain for the purposes of creating... things for the internet. 'Twas the short-lived venture of an imaginative, yet entirely unskilled, child, but that daft name just reentered my thoughts for the first time in ~20 years... and it's available.
