There's a lot more to sex and gender than the silly binary nonsense your era still clings to. All gender-based hatred is banned from my sickbay. You get to be who you are with me and I will protect you from anyone who says otherwise. 🖤💙😷🥄🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈

You are not a static being. You are allowed to change who you are throughout your day, week, year, and your entire life. Don't let anyone pigeonhole you. Be your true self of the moment in every moment.
Transphobic policing of who "counts" as a woman or man is fascism. Any time fascism is allowed a foothold, it will take more steps beyond. Bigotry is the greatest fuel for the fascists' fire, so put out any flames at first sight.
Good medicine on a systemic level requires tackling systemic inequity and bigotry first. You will never have a high-quality medical system unless everybody does. 🖤💙😷🥄
You are not required to lend your ear to someone who will scream abuse into it.
Keeping problematic people in your life for social convenience is bad for your physical and mental health. I'm writing you a prescription to let at least some of those people go. Side effects can be rough at first but they fade and the cure is worth it. 🖤💙😷🥄
I'm always proud of you, even when you're struggling. Never imagine that your struggles diminish you. You shouldn't have to struggle, but struggling does not render you less worthy.
Defend yourself and your boundaries with the same vigour that you'd defend your dearest friend and their boundaries. You are worth protecting.
You are not required to forgive your abuser if you do not wish to. Ignore all pressure to "be the better person". You are already the better person by not being an abuser yourself.
Be very wary of anybody who thinks the word "defensive" is a pejorative. There is nothing wrong with defending yourself, and most people who seem "overly defensive" are reacting to insufficient safety over time.
Suffering is not a requirement for good character. Suffering builds trauma; good character can be built by any experience.
When people dislike you because you loudly and proudly defend your social justice values and personal boundaries, that means you are winning at keeping people who don't support your values and boundaries out of your life. Well done.
Just because you aren't getting the support you need doesn't mean that you don't deserve it. It means you are being failed, not that you have failed.
You are not required to forgive those who did unforgivable things to you, especially during your childhood.
Honesty never ruined any relationship worth having.
Why are you bending yourself so hard to be universally liked when you don't even like many of those you are trying to impress? Be yourself and attract people who like you for you.
Basic, fundamental human rights cannot be earned because they are already rights. Food, water, shelter, safety, kindness, community, etc: nobody should ever have to "earn" these things. Everyone ought to simply have these things. Let's all work to ensure all people do.
When you give of yourself until it hurts, you burn out on being able to help anyone. Over-giving attracts those who are insatiable for your generosity and will sap you entirely. You can still be generous with limits in place.
May you enjoy this anniversary of humans landing on Earth's moon in the spirit of the scientific achievement and wondrous adventure that inspired it all.
Perfectionism is frequently the enemy of progress. I understand the impetus to try to get it all done properly the first time, but there's often value in doing things in less-than-ideal stages and then building up towards something better later.
Your life will become more peaceful once you learn to no longer need the last word or for your side to be fully spoken. Sometimes your best possible ending to a conflict comes from walking away and letting the other side delude themselves that they've won.
You can't change another person's fundamental being. Only they can do that. You can change how much space you give them in your life and how you enforce your boundaries around them, but you cannot change them. Do not burn out your engines trying.
You deserve nice things. You deserve comfort and joy. You deserve safety and a community of kindness all around you. Yes, you.
Your moral high ground is valuable. Do not concede it readily amidst the throes of populism.
Maintain as much control over your comm system as possible. Cast disruptive, intrusive, and otherwise unwanted communications into the bin on sight. Do not engage with those determined to bring you down. Brook no gaslighting whatsoever. Shields up when necessary.
Whenever possible, steer your ship away from a truly futile battle. Sometimes the best defence is warping away.
You are worth defending. Anybody who tells you otherwise ought to be a primary target for all of your defence strategies and systems.
Don't shy away from reflecting upon times you trusted someone and shouldn't have. Study those memories. Learn the red flags. Use that past pain to bolster your shields going forward. It wasn't your fault that you were betrayed; mine that information to your future advantage.
It is true that I have advocated for seizing the time now because now will never come again. But do not mistake that directive for a requirement to burn yourself out. Sometimes the moment you must seize is the opportunity to rest between difficult times. Find your balance.
If you could visit your past self (please do not violate the Temporal Accords!) they would be very proud of how you have survived, learned, and grown. Just as I am proud of you for all of that and more.
