Weird cars, planes, space, Appalachia, France, Formula 1, Pokémon, Craig Ferguson interviews.

Helped a hawk today. Just showed up on my driveway and wouldn't budge. Poor guy. The local zoo has a wildlife rehabilitation center that does good work.

My boss (and good friend) let me drive his 2002 Stahlgrau E46 330Ci to lunch on Tuesday and holy hell, did it make me miss my old E46. Especially since his 5-speed has the shift detent pin issue fixed. 🤩 I owned mine for 6.5 years, the longest I've kept a car. Hmm.

Beautiful moments can still happen even when you’re cooking out in the sun with angle grinder replacing your house's A/C's condenser motor because it's 87° inside.

Watching ST:The Voyage Home, and there's a lot of goodness in this shot: • 280ZX • BMW 2002 • First-gen Riv (?) • Mark VII What else noteworthy did I not ID?

Trans mounts came off with little drama. Gonna try to do this without disconnecting the torque converter from the flex plate, which would entail removing the starter (requires intake removal, etc). All I need is to pry the trans & engine about 1" apart and the rogue bolt *should* drop out. 🤞

QOTD: Show me a car you'd take over the top-of-the-line model of the same vintage. In other words: I'd rather have the below than a 993 Turbo. It's just a lovely, lovely thing. Also see: E82 128i over a 135i.

It always irks me when I watch planespotting videos of takeoffs and they don't show the entire landing gear retraction sequence. 👎 Similar with landings: Show me the reversers opening AND closing, please. #avgeek
