I did some more work on this plate, but even without printing it I'm thinking that this is the final piece. A memento mori of my husband's skull from an MRI in sepia ink on an antique cutwork and embroidered 34X34 linen tablecloth printed from an etched copper plate.

For the first time in a long time, today, I did some sketching. It was my first time using a multicoloured pencil on black paper. These architectural details are in locations that most people at church never see.

A patriotic American today I celebrate the Translation of St Martin, also the day of his ordination to bishop: a position of power that he did'nt desire. More leaders like Martin! Here're translations of my St Martin etching as screenprints on vintage hankies by Print Now Riot Later of Frankfurt.

Two weeks ago I delivered my prints to the New York Public Library. It is now a part of the Prints Collection. I'm so glad that I will be able to visit it in its new home, and so can you.

A bearded bespecticaled man, me, in a Phrygian (liberty) cap in front of the 42nd Street branch of the New York Public Library. A woman (the curator of the Prints Collection) wearing a cutwork and embroidered blouse and a green skirt stands behind a desk with a wall of books behind her. On the desk are three prints on handkerchiefs. A triptych of etchings in sepia ink on vintahe linen hankies with 24 k gold leaf. The images depict the conversion story of either St Eustace or St Hubert. The two Saints share the same legend despite a 700 year difference in their dates. The bottommost image is of a young shirtless man leaning to the left; his left arm raised with his hand behind him. Some nondescript foliage is in the foreground. The middle image is the same as the first with the addition of the young man in mirror image on the opposite side. Standing between them is a stag facing the viewer; a gold cross between his antlers. The topmost image is missing the first man and the stag. The man who remains now has a gold halo.

I don't usually like to post for secular celebrations like Earth Day; especially when Rogation Days (the days set aside when Christians focus on God's gift of creation and its just stewardship) are coming so soon, but here you go...

I replaced the piece I sold yesterday at the Brooklyn Fine Art Print Fair with this etching over screen print on dish towel of Saint John the Forerunner. Had great sales again today!

Tonight's the opening of the Brooklyn Fine Art Print Fair. As per usual I have works available in the Shoestring Press booth, including a set of 3 handkerchiefs with etching and 24K gold leaf depicting the conversion of either St Eustace or Hubert. They somehow share the same conversion story.

Some years ago I was approached with an opportunity to design a Lentin Aray for a church. It never happened. Today I'm using some of those preliminary sketches to illustrate a project on which I working with my husband.

I didn't quite realize at the time that the rendering of Antoninus Pius made him look rather dead in this etching and sonet for my husband when we were not yet married. Now I just make etchings of his skull. Happy VD all!

There's a new paper on town! Last night was the launch party for the Observer: a new quarterly focusing on arts and community in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Shoestring Press, the place that employs me, was featured on the front page, I was quoted on the first page.

I'm one of the lucky ones; getting to work with artists; helping them make prints of their work; and this is my day job! Yesterday, Gail Rothschild came in to Shoestring Press to make some corrections to a plate on which she's been working. We'll be publishing hee print this Spring.
