I like that because of the MMO framework in FF14 my character is just constantly being talked up by every NPC and all I can think every time is him bashfully blushing every cutscene going "Oh, stop"

I think comfort characters are good to have and share honestly even if inevitably people will get weird about them and push buttons about you liking them. It's something I appreciate more when I'm struggling socially, I like that I can boot up my favorite game or show and not be judged for a while.
I think I'm just too old and tired for bad faith fandom arguments. I feel like even a few years ago, I'd be all in and ready to debate and argue and jump in the fray but my response nowadays is usually to disengage and I don't know if it's just the state of the world leading to not caring or what.
